Usually don't watch sponsored videos, but this was great, so interesting, thanks! I know what you mean about the guitar and strumming patterns. Whenever I jam with friends I always have a hard time playing something interesting on piano when I am doing rhythm. Going to try this next time!
Glad you think so! I have a whole course on accompaniment strategies and rhythms over at my membership if you want to dig deeper. www.theversatilemusician.com
Thanks for the tutorial Brenda. I see you have a Blue Bayou tutorial coming up and covered it in brief here. I had requested it a while ago, so thank you. Coming to songs using the tresillo, I'd say Father Figure by the late great George Michael. I know this because without knowing the name of the rhythm, it was what my hands settled down to playing and it was a good approximation of what I was hearing on the record. I could be wrong but I'm here to learn, so please let me know if I'm right. Thanks
Was watching a video of Weekends with Adele, her residency at Vegas. Started tapping along to the drums for Set Fire To The Rain, I think it's the tresillo. P.S. could you do a tutorial for the song please? Thanks.
I found a song that has a definite Tressilo rhythm…at least in the verse if not the chorus. “Back on the Chain Gang” by the Pretenders. I have to admit I have the sheet music for the song and saw that the notes match what is described in this video!
This isn't piano related, I just found you and subscribed. I had to come on here and tell you that I think you remind me of Winnie from Big Top Pee Wee. I love that movie so I hope it doesn't offend you in any way because I think she is beautiful. Just throwing it out there in case you haven't seen it, you'll get a kick out of it. Loved the video! 💚
Hi ! Love your Wayne of teaching. I hink here you solved a small mystery for me. This is the same rhythm you do when you dance foxtrot,or two step,no? I often wondered how that dance rhythm - both was really counted, and came from. Merci.
I don't know if they use this groove but I can make it work. My Girl. Grazing in the Grass. Caught in a Trap. I Heard it Through the Grapevine. Hey Jude?
I insist that you're amazing dear Brenda. Thanks for sharing your talent. Yo❤

Hello Brenda… Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion of music with us! Is there a way for people to send you digital tips?
I ended up here after someone pointed out on The Daily Doug channel that Down With the Sickness by DIsturbed does quarter note tresillos. Thanks!
