- The two works of the French artist Claude Mellan, HEAD OF A SATYRS and THE VEIL OF VERONICA, can hardly be surpassed in technical ingenuity. The drawing as well as the engraving were created from a single line. Find out in the video with curator Laura Ritter how something like this is even possible.

This is amazing work! Is the copper engraving in existence or is it just this print? Are there more prints?
We're happy to hear that you like the video. The copper engraving does still exist in the Royal Library in Brussels. It is not in use any more though. Prints exist in many major collections around the world. Here is a link to more information about the work from our digital collection:
