- Today I headed to Lumphini Park, Bangkok's most famous park, to try some of Bangkok's most famous street food.
First I headed to the always popular Thai Buffet Street Food ฿45 (ข้าวแกงบุฟเฟ่ต์ 45 บาท) on Sarasin Road for an all you can eat Thai street food buffet which is now 50 THB - £1.16 / $1.41

I then headed to around the corner to Soi Polo for some Michelin-recommended fried chicken at Polo Fried Chicken (ไก่ทอดเจ๊กี)
I had Gai Tod (fried chicken) ไก่ย่าง - 130 THB (half) £3.00 / $3.67
Kor Moo Yang (pork neck) คอหมูย่าง - 100 THB £2.30 / $2.80
Tum Tang - ตำแตง - 70 THB £1.65 / $2.00

That buffet is insanely good value and looked quality too. The fried chicken looked delicious along with the Pork Neck.
Pork neck and chicken were the stars of the show
Used to be 40 baht only, now it’s 50 baht !
Even so it’s still cheap and all people who have tried that buffet at Lumphini said it was delicious and worth it.

How was it?
It was great. Pork neck, fried chicken, sweetcorn salad, and finished up with a plate of giant fish cakes. That salad was amazing . What a lunch. Back in February to try some other places.
How is the buffet concept? Take as much as you can for 1 time only or are customers allowed to refill unlimitedly?
Many time the chicken will just be dusted with corn or potato starch, Gives great crispness, but thin/not heavy.

If you really enjoy that Chicken more than KFC. I recommended Hat Yai Fried Chicken it's an another level of fried chicken from South Thailand, Hat Yai Fried Chicken is the real deal why KFC in Thailand need to be super perfection than other country like UK US (Thai KFC is so much better than that)and create a lot more option on the menu all the time. Mark Wiens once visit Hat Yai city just for record a video the chicken, you can check it out.
There are Hat Yai Fried Chicken(Thai call "Kai Tod Hat Yai")Store and South Thai Restaurant in an entire of Thai country you could find it in Bangkok either but authentic version is a bit hard to find if you didn't come visit Hat Yai

padboong is one of my favorite vegetables.50 bht that is dirt cheap,because you can take as much as you want on a plate.that chicken looks good,,but i think you can eat good chicken in many places in thailand. fries chicken better than the beefsteak in Thailand,but thats my opinion.

I, too, still have to "watch my pocket", I'm still a worker at heart with my leather work gloves in my back pocket at all times. What were those four ingredients in that tamarind dipping sauce again? I know tamarind and fish sauce and chili, but was the last one palm sugar?
Me too Willie but it’s a paintbrush for me instead of gloves. The base ingredients are palm sugar, tamarind, dried chilli and fish sauce. Then people will add ground toasted rice, lime juice, spring onion and cilantro depending on what shop it is
@@theroamingcook Pretty much how I do dipping sauce. I did one from Xi'an Famous Foods restaurant in NYC which was better than my old one, but I usually just play it by ear.....actually by tastebuds.
