- Hans van Eijck (ex-After Tea, ex-Tee Set) is the spiritual father of the occasional formation Abdul Hassan & Orchestra. Disguised as Arabs and supplemented with belly dancer Yonina, they perform Hans' composition, 'Arabian Affair'.The theatrical act with the Abdul Hassan Orchestra, of which all other musicians are not known, scored an occasional Top 40 hit . A special vinyl disco version of the song also appeared with, in addition to Arabian Affair in five parts, also five other songs on the B-side.
The single reached #4 on 19 August 1978 in the Dutch Top 40.
This recording was made at the AVROTROS TV program 'Groeten uit Rijnsburg' on 15 July 1978.

Why didn't you mentioned that the original sound track is composed by the Egyptian Composer "Muhammed El_Mougy" R.I.P Since 1976 In a very famus song "Qare"at Al fingan" For the well Known Egyptian Singer "Abdel Halim Hafez"

Damals - 1978 - war ich 16.
Von Dieter Hallervorden gab es eine deutsche Version.
Jetzt wo ich es lese?! Stimmt, der hat das Lied mal verschlimmbessert 😀. Ich glaube damals hat sich der Orient und der Okzident langsam aber sicher angenähert. Leider ist dieser Prozess gefroren. Mir hat es immer gefallen und dieses Lied wurde oft im Radio, Freitag abends in so einer Wunschsendung gewünscht. Ich - damals gerade mal Schüler, habe mich immer sehr gefreut, weil es so anders war.
