Is it just me or is it difficult to follow Solomon’s naming convention for their shoes? Trying to figure the difference in models and versions is incredibly difficult. I love my Sense Ultra 5’s but trying to find it again is painful
Hi, yes you have a different shoe there. Part of the same "family" of Sense shoes but not quite the same. I hear good things about your shoe though. How are you getting on with it?
Maybe they don't sell all models in every territory? I don't know if they do or don't. That was just a thought. They do have a lot of similar models. Glad yours are going well for you.
Hi Kev, thanks for the comment. I prefer the Salomons as the fit is just a fraction better, with slightly better room for your toes to splay. I would say the cushioning is a tiny bit better as well. Having said all that, the differences are really small. They are both great shoes.
Rocket Runner thats nice to know. I currently am running in the hierro. I am happy with them, just find the grip a little lacking in muddier conditions.also could do with a bit more width in the forefoot and a tad more cushion. I'm hoping the intended changes to the next version solves this..
Avoid this shoe. - Salomon are marketing this as maximally cushioned and having antivibration technologies... In fact it's a hellishly firm shoe on the road and on dry trails. - Plus, you get the stiffness of a heavy, bulky shoe. - bonus: salomon's aftersales dept is awful.... Overall a massive fail - back to my hokas. Thanks for the review though :)
nice review! just got my first pair of this model and my first salomon. can't wait to use it
Hi Duke, thanks for the comment. Please let us know how you get on with them.

I agree. They could definitely make it clearer what the difference is between each shoe, or the roles the shoes are designed for.
Hello i just got the sense ride but not the max version, is it different ?

hows the sizing compared to nike?
I find Nikes more reliable across their range of shoes when it comes to sizing. The max was pretty good on size mind.
Avoid this shoe.
