- While micro-four-third cameras aren't exactly the buzz talk amongst photographers, video enthusiasts might say otherwise. Especially when it's jam-packed with features such as waveforms, audio limiters, 5-axis in-body stabilisation, 5.7K Apple ProRes and yet we're still barely scratching the surface of the Panasonic Lumix GH6.

I see side by side comparisons here between the GH5 and GH6 for IBIS and ISO. I couldn't find a side by side comparison in your video for image quality, for resolution. A difference in image quality is the only thing that really matters, the only reason to spend $2000+ to upgrade to the GH6. IBIS and ISO can be improved with a polarizer or a gimbal. You are the only reviewer I have seen online to do side by side comparisons between the GH5 and GH6 cameras. While you were at it, why not do a resolution comparison? I would have given you two thumbs up if you had, instead of just one.
Hello. The side by side comparison showed in the video was mentioned on how it retained better dynamic range. Resolution department would ultimately go to the GH6 as it comes with a new 25.2MP sensor and ProRes. Would've dived deeper into image quality comparisons but had limited time with the GH5.
Thanks for the single thumbs up. Appreciate it either way.
Not hearing a lot of reasons to upgrade from the OG gh5
GH5 ISO goes down to 100. You have to turn on "extended ISO".
Thank you for the video
18:28, there's a definite difference from gh5
If you don't use drboost, I think you should use gh6 because it's dr like gh5.
Did you use this video?
Memory card versatility, hand-shaking was verified, and it was amazing that the focus followed well in the video.
I wonder if it is only MF because there is no warbling compared to other videos.
Yeah AF was the least consistent in my experience. Couldn't get it to work 70% of the time but held up well under fast movements.
Warping effects will ultimately show when Boost EIS is enabled. Best to just use OIS if the lens comes with stabilisation.
Good video. But at the pictures that you took at those people inside you needed an external flash. No camera, no matter how good, is gonna take great pics without a flash in some mixed artificial office lights.
Yeah I totally agree. Any flash units you could suggest that would work well with the GH6?
@@TECH360TV Godox V860ii for Pana Olympus is an excellent flash
@@adrianpocea2287 Nice. Thanks for the suggestion!
Quick question. How did you get rid of the auto focus box? Yours is like a tiny cross in the middle.
That should be under AF Area Display. Try disabling it if its ON
I have gh5 alr do u recommend the upgrade or is it not big of a difference u would say?
The Gh6 is far more refined. Image quality alone might be hard to justify the upgrade, but you do get 6K resolution and Apple ProRes as well. Not to mention a huge improvement in low-light for a micro 4/3 sensor.
For the GH6 can you recommend the best lens that is suitable for event videography if budget is no issue?
best lens for video I can recommend is anything native to the GH6. Autofocus and OIS is something you'll need for events so best to stay away from manual/third party lenses. You can check out the lineup Lumix has in the link below :

12-35 2,8
The best all-round lens is the Lumix 12-60mm. It can get wide shots and long shots.
But a really great back-up lens for event videography, especially for weddings, is the Panasonic 10-25mm f/1.7 This is a wide lens, which is good for getting hand-held shots of the bridal party and other party-type situations. As well, the 10-25mm f/1.7 has a very wide aperture, which is very good in low-light situations like churches and banquet halls, and the wide aperture also allows for a shallow depth of field, which creates beautiful out-of-focus backgrounds. The 10-25mm is very expensive; the 12-60mm is affordable.
what a gorgeous model, the one on the roller skates :P who is she?
they look the same tho.
If you put an ND filter on the GH5 , You won't even see the difference
Yeah image quality alone wasn't much of a difference. Clarity might've made some improvements if you really crop in, but everything else from the colour science and IBIS were still quite similar.
Low light performance did better tho! Didn't have enough time with the GH5 to make a comparison but the differences are significant according to some previous GH5 users.
