After my grandfather got mauled to death by that rat I would go to the office of the London underground everyday to complain just how irresponsible it is that the announcement that day sounded so annoying. I hope this is a step into a more positive future and people like my grandfather can have peace from now on because they hear your voice when they pass.

I think you did those lines justice. The robotic train voice in Australia doesn't really convey the urgency of the situation when a homicidal kangaroo boards the rear carriage.
The older trains don't have robotic announcements, and sometimes the announcements on the platform don't work. It's so nice when that happens because you can really hear the emotion in the announcer's voice.
Fun fact: Assuming you’re talking about NSW, the voice of Sydney Trains is Taylor Owynns, who voiced the character Lulu in the old live action version of the children’s show Bananas In Pyjamas.

London-based TH-camr Adrian Gray (29) has been chosen to voice the announcements on the incoming rolling stock for 2024. Gray's only previous voiceover work was the voice of 'seal 12' in a recent nature documentary, and he was awarded this new position largely out of nepotism. Adrian said 'I was delighted to find out I will be the voice of the Underground announcements and can't wait to get recording and also to sort out these lawsuits between me the Build A Bear Workshop.'

As someone who lives in New York City but is a giant Anglophile and visits London at every possible opportunity, hearing those quotes is making my head spin. Which are London Underground quotes? Which are NYC subway quotes? They both sound impossibly familiar. 😂

Well done indeed! As an Australian I just wish we had your voice giving us the appropriate announcements for when our trains are invaded by the wildlife. My brother was savaged by a magpie on the Eltham line the other day and he said the worst part was the awful robotic voice warning him of the magpies claws

So, I found your channel a month or two ago, and I resisted watching this video because I assumed it was literally just you being excited for being the actual voice of the London Underground -- which, that'd be awesome and "congrats" would surely be in order, but I just didn't feel compelled to watch a video about it.
I decided to watch it today, and I'm so glad I did! Once again, I am reminded that I don't know everything, and to never judge a book by its cover (or a video by its title?). 😂
I accidentally stepped on a literal dead rat in broad daylight in NYC the day after New Years last month. They usually appear in the subway or after dark, so something tells me some New Years revelers got a bit too drunk the day before. 😉

My old, sweet neigbour did the actual voice for the train announcements in the Stockholm subways blue line. It was always weird to hear her whenever I got to and from work (or just took the train home from the pub, drunk AF a saturday night). She was a TV-announcer in the 70s or something, had the voice for it.
