    Learning to use a clutch 101. Gently release the clutch as you're applying throttle. If you pop a clutch; it jumps. Even if the throttle has a dead spot proper clutch Control won't let you jerk and jump.

      my 350 after all the mods the wet weight was 275 lbs.

    The Throttle Tamer will GREATLY reduce the jerkyness. It's not an emissions issue here, it's the TPS and ECU settings for ignition that are the issue. This generation of bikes have a very hard "hit" as they have a really advanced ignition timing for first to third gear. The ECU has three maps which is changed by the gear indicator switch by the output shaft.
    The tamer will help with the ramp of the throttle and ignition advance but still retain the low end torque these things have. It's just very reactive which is good if you need to hop curbs and logs on the trail.

      They’re doing it to meet emissions regulations and an aftermarket ecu and exhaust make the bike a better experience over a throttle tamer.

    Would you recommend this for a first bike or stick to 250 or 300l?

      I think for most people the 300L is a better first bike.

      I think they are all pretty choked up as far as dual-sports go, but the 450 struggles with it to say the least. Lol

      im not sure, but people are having good success lowering them. I don't believe its too difficult to do.

      Youre correct. The dealer put that on and I'm guessing they broke the original or they would have never touched it.

    Why honda make ecu so jerky? is that unacceptably bad ? All stock 450rl video is rare in TH-cam my think. thx

      Its so Honda can meet epa regulations to make it street legal. Its not so bad that its a deal breaker but it is something that needs to be addressed with an aftermarket option. Thanks for watching

      It's not that bad really, its a matter of getting used to, but you won't be using your gas without using your clutch in 1-3 gear. On the road and off road youll learn to ride it and use the clutch more, however at slow technical off road stuff youll tire your arms very quickly, and then it is a bit of a problem

      Unless you're just putting around on the road! this bike is a high performance off-road bike intended to be riden offroad, and you're admitting it sucks off-road which equals its not good.
