This song alone is why I'm happy to see Mike up on stage with the band again, smiling and having a good time. Music was his to go for grieving after Chester passed and this song and album capture that so clearly. He grieved the loss of his friend heavily for 7 years and it's so nice to see him smiling and doing what he loves. I feel like you still see moments in their shows today where you can tell he gets sad singing some of their songs and so do we, as fans. Miss Chester every day, and I'm proud of Mike for keeping a legacy he helped build, alive.
I don't really watch reaction videos I just listen when I'm working. When he said the show is tonight I looked down and saw he's wearing what he wore at the tribute show. It looked like he was maybe in the green room at the Hollywood bowl before the show. The next verse looks like maybe after the show and he was at home? The whole thing looks like maybe he was just yelling at his phone and then just recorded over those clips. The tribute show is 3 hours long and worth watching every second. If I had extra money to donate to you guys I would put it towards you doing a live reaction to the whole show. Much love to you. Stay flawd.
It’s not that we’re refusing to accept Emily to the band. For me, I can’t listen to the songs that Chester sang and not hurt because it’s not him. I was a fan from the time I first heard them. Chester was an amazing singer/songwriter, and his death hit me so damn hard. I love that they were able to go forward and do what they love again, but like I said. It’s too hard to listen to her sing Chester’s songs. Eventually I’ll give the new music a chance, but it’s too hard hearing someone else sing his songs.
when you realize that LP songs are not "chester songs", but to a whole bands, when you realize that she is singing those song like a tribute to chester, and not trying to mimic him at all, maybe after that you will be able to enjoy listening to emily.
