Tbh the only thing I truly miss about my cr125 is the sweet smell of the exhaust. otherwise my crf250x is just a more enjoyable experience for me that still has plent of power for me to hurt myself with.

So if anything 4 has WAY more torque actually science says so too. Owner of cr250 and rmz450 rmz smokes it any day especially when there’s hills or loose ground involved the 450 is glued to the ground
The two bikes have completely different power bands (2 strokes are way peakier, and must hit the tighter rpm-range for power, while the 4-strokes have a more 'user-friendly' flat power band). The 250 two-stroke bikes are lighter and more agile/fidgety, while the heavier 4 strokes are less nimble and easier to ride, holding a straight line). The 250 2T's are definitely fast bikes, but requires much more skills and overall physical fitness to ride it fast, things will happen much faster, for better or for worse.
I rode a 2000 KTM 2 stroke for a few years and it was awesome then got a 05 crf450r and its completely different its like learning to ride all over again

The 2-strokes are cheap now. So, for the same price you can mod-out a 2-stroke and have cash left over. 2 stroke is lighter and just as fast. The new 4 strokes are soo awesome though. For the price you can almost have both. I have a 01 Cr-250 and a 06 Crf450 . . . the 450 rocks though and is my first choice.

Take that 4 stroke, Deck the head, port and polish, And bore it out just a little bit more. Then test them. Maybe if you do all that work finally it will be as fast as the 2 stroke.

In the motorcycle business and in todays demand to have the baddest and fastest bike, no manufacture would ever build a bike slower than the preceding years. It just doesnt make sense. Yes cr250s are very fast and nice and sound cool but no matter how u look at it the 450s are not just faster but they are a better bike that has a slimmer maint. Schedule and better reliablilty and dependability
i had a 09 ktm 250 sx and beat my mates 2013 450 exc, not by much but a win is a win so your comment is not valid. With the right rider, bike setup etc a 2 stroke will keep up or beat 4 strokes. 2strokes are for ppl who can ride or have the balls and 4's is for everybody. Its like comparing turbo drift cars to v8 ones, u need more skill to drift the turbo one as the torque is different.
my kx125 has been running for 4 years now and havent had a problem with the engine once (knock on wood),all you have to do is just treat it with respect and keep the proper maintenance and you should be fine, i love the look on my friends with brand new four strokes faces when i beat em in races. 2 strokes ftw

My buddy Robbie not only pulled holeshots on his CR250 against 450's but beat them outright in local 6 lap motos. I wouldn't trade my '04 CR250 for anything. A guy just two days ago...offered to trade me his 2007 YZ450F + 500 bucks for my CR250. I respectfully declined....

Put a 250f guy on a 125 and he will suck ass so much cuz he dont know how to clutch to get that power. There's nothing more fun to watch then a rider on a 125 who handles it like a boss on the track, that is real talent !
I think cr 250 have near 60 ps and crf 450 have 50something ps. the cr is lighter but eat more. The 2 bikes is water cooled which is rubbish for forest ride, I mean forest, not trail forest! Plus useless loooooooooooooot power!

In trade journals they have tested these bikes and they have measured 55..58hp from CRF450. They have usually measured from 250cc 2-strokes just little bit less.
Mae kine CRF 450/500 4 strokes for sure have less power than the CR 250 2 strokes. an other example more strong! CR 125 (2 strokes) have more power than CRF 250 (4 strokes) and is double cc. CR 85 (2 strokes) have more power than CRF 150 (4 strokes). Do you want more examples?

Well vincent yup i am the last person to write a brief note. But i live life with no outside contact as such i have lost the nerve to venture off my farm i rarely go too far from my shed or house unless for a quick blast on a bike which usually ends up with me jumping off the fkn thing in m8d flight due to face planting with a dirty big orb weaving spider strung out between the trees.. im scared of two things and hon3stly thats it one 8s spid3rs and centip3des and snakes and all the nasty bighting little fuckers. And the other is truly on some days leaving my bedroom. im a strong mind3d honest person. But we like anything can only withstand x amount of the cruelty that surrounds us. I choose not to judge ppl who have lets say made mistakes. But it has not been positive and i guess damage control kicked in and quite unfairly ive become a prisoner in my own jail. you see, your talking as someone who knows their way around an engine. and someone who clearly knows how to ride a bike. for the average user a 4 stroke is a much better option simply because theres no mixing gas, no sudden powerband, better selection of modern bikes etc. but i agree with you. for someone like yourself or I.
also ive seen way too many joeys get on their new ktm 250 sx. and then find out that they had to mix gas

Yes they have a rev limiter. Its called progress. I mean do you honestly like having to rebuild your dinosaur every year? As long as you dont abuse the piss out of your bike you could ride the shit out of your 450 park it in the shed and not have to worry about your engine just keep clean oil in it. Thats what i like. wich one is faster depends on the rider.
2-stroke riders are better pilots than 4-stroke...especially those who have been riding a 125 for years. Put a 250f guy on a 125 and he will suck ass so much cuz he dont know how to clutch to get that power. There's nothing more fun to watch then a rider on a 125 who handles it like a boss on the track, that is real talent !

Riding a 4 stroke is riding a automatic. No skill and less boring.
I think cr 250 have near 60 ps and crf 450 have 50something ps. the cr is lighter but eat more. The 2 bikes is water cooled which is rubbish for forest ride, I mean forest, not trail forest! Plus useless loooooooooooooot power!

In trade journals they have tested these bikes and they have measured 55..58hp from CRF450. They have usually measured from 250cc 2-strokes just little bit less.

CRF 450/500 4 strokes for sure have less power than the CR 250 2 strokes.
an other example more strong! CR 125 (2 strokes) have more power than CRF 250 (4 strokes) and is double cc.
CR 85 (2 strokes) have more power than CRF 150 (4 strokes).
