    Thank you for carrying the m-16 "correctly" tip up. I've had this model by my side for upwards of 16 years. Good video.

      thanks, this is one of my favorite knives. i have had my first one since about 2008 or 2009 or so. its still buttery smooth and was my edc up until about 2019 when i switched to a two knife carry, otf for packages and a large counter point xl for flesh of my attackers, thanks to my neighborhood rat infestation.

    I agree on a lot of the same points. I don't really care too much about how high the learning curve it is to close the knife. I think the rush to open the knife is more important than to close it and those flippers help. Can barely find other knives with double hilts/quillons. Also in favor of the subdued coating rather than the loud glitzy blades. The main gripe I have with these series is the inconsistency in terms of design. I would get the M16-13ZLEK for the nice size and nice finger guard/flipper, but for some reason they chose to make it a spear point instead of like the other tantos. On top of that they discontinued the 12ZLEK so sort of stuck with the 14ZLEK. I kind of was reserving the tanto blade for the ZLEK and stick with a spear with the SFG but they don't make a M21-13ZLEK which would've been a good size.

      i remember noticing the designs were all over the place too, seems like they even removed the flippers, which i thought was one of the main features

    Question when pulling the knife out of a blue jeans pocket does the wave work well? I used Emerson's in the past. About to pull the trigger Amazon has the tanto version for $56, thanks and be well.

      Yes. Works perfectly imo. The stiffer the material the better. For example jeans would be best, Cotton and other other super thin and light shorts would be the worst, but it works with anything really. You won't regret your purchase and I get the feeling they are a small company and stand behind thier product for the life of the knife.

    Good review. I have both as well as the non-G10 versions of both. All great knives. I think CRKT makes some of the best lower priced knives out there...especially the Carson Series. Don't you have a lot of blade-play with the pivot screws adjusted so loosely on your knives being able to "flick" them open so easily?

    Great video! I have a question, I'd like to get the M-16 but, I'm not a liner lock fan. In all the years you've had that knife, have you had any liner lock issues of any kind? Thank you for your time btw...

    • @jasonbrown467
      @jasonbrown467  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not a single issue. i have seen some people having issues with the lock because the liner lock as that red dot lock and find it hard to close with one hand, but i quickly over came that my self within just a few seconds. still love the knife, but i now carry an otf for opening packages and counter point xl for defense

      @@jasonbrown467 got the M-16 AND the M-21. I like the look and feel of them. I have almost all if the Cold Steel XL Voyager folders and was looking for something different so, CRKT kept popping up! But I have to tell you, the CRKT knife I like best is the Otanashi Noh Ken! The length, width and fast deployment for me, beats them all! Going to get it serrated by Tom Veff. And I like your choice of self defense knives. That Counterpoint XL is a SERIOUS blade!!!

      why the full serration, i am just curious? i have never been a fan of it, but i have a dagger style butterfly knife that is full serration on both sides and i get the feeling it is for shanking, not cutting rope lol.

      @@jasonbrown467 that’s what i think lol it just feels really aggressive for no reason, most of my knives i buy w a half serrated edge but not full.

      if i have the box, im showing it. years from now someone may want to see it for what ever reason. i will also always make long boring videos. 3 minute over produced videos that barely show detail or understanding is not my approach
