We knew this was coming. Debrusk played dirty from the get go. And the refereeing was terrible. The game got out of hand because of the officiating. Just terrible.

Boston is the easiest reffed team in the league by a mile. Should really win a cup every other year with the advantages have in the playoffs. Its crazy.
If you're going to call the weak hooking penalties made by one team, atleast have the decency to call the cross checkings, interferences, the trippings, and boarding penalties as well. Leafs were infracted upon atleast three times in the first 12 minutes of the game. Hell, even Rask was in on the tripping at the start.
You forgot the multiple high sticks.. I counted 4 on Tavares alone. For me those are the worse penalties..getting high sticked in the face can be quite painful.

Its clear that DeBrusk was keen to get after Kadri from the start and unfortunately Kadri fell foul of the red mist, but he did the right thing. in a team with a heavy 4th line, maybe DeBrusk would have been down for a bit longer. The reffing was appalling. i hope at start of game 3, one of the leafs lines up a bruin and level him. what i would give to bring back Domi or McLaren to dust up a few face grills and generally run around lie a pin ball.

Horrible referees. They totally lost control of the game, players got injured and frustrated. Sure it is playoffs but it became a free for all.

Didn't know why Kadri got called on the Debrusk face wash. He should have got the instigating on that one. Debrusk saw Kadri with his head down and stuck the knee out. Should have been a major penalty there. And how is it that he lays motionless like he was hurt on the Kadri check and sprung up and skated away. That guy is a weasel even his team players know it.
Check out the game results ..DeBrusk got one penalty and took off Kadri at the same time & DeBrusk was clearly the aggressor in that situation.

If you're going to call the weak hooking penalties made by one team, atleast have the decency to call the cross checkings, interferences, the trippings, and boarding penalties as well. Leafs were infracted upon atleast three times in the first 12 minutes of the game. Hell, even Rask was in on the tripping at the start.
You forgot the multiple high sticks.. I counted 4 on Tavares alone. For me those are the worse penalties..getting high sticked in the face can be quite painful.

I’m empathetic to Khadri. The league created this situation; crying foul about hits to the head but allowing fighting, boarding, jump-hits, knee-on-knee, and DrBrusk literally trying to take the guy’s head off at the corner boards. I’d be temped to cross-check someone in the throat myself. What’s the point of a rule-book if you’re going to throw it out the window during play-offs? Does that mean players’ forfeit their safety at the end of regular season? The league needs to accept they created this situation. It’s a shame Khadri is going to be the fall-guy.

Its clear that DeBrusk was keen to get after Kadri from the start and unfortunately Kadri fell foul of the red mist, but he did the right thing. in a team with a heavy 4th line, maybe DeBrusk would have been down for a bit longer. The reffing was appalling. i hope at start of game 3, one of the leafs lines up a bruin and level him. what i would give to bring back Domi or McLaren to dust up a few face grills and generally run around lie a pin ball.
This is the kind of game that the leafs needed Bogosian Thornton Simmonds Foligno and whoever else they got at the deadline

The hitting rule in the NHL is stupid. These hits are not to get the puck, but the hurt the opponent which is not the meaning of hockey. It’s not WWE.
Again, why do we have a rule book if it is completely throw out the window come April. Like I get it “playoff hockey” but as far as I remembered refs would always call high sticks, hooking, tripping and interference and let the players throw their body.
There's a difference between playoff hockey where some things should be let go like the slashing and the hard hits that might get called in the regular season and what happened last night.
