This is what the NHL needs to include in their condensed games. Shots and goals are fun and all, but physicality is just as important to the game.

Dude, they choose to leave that stuff out. They make 9-minute long videos(plenty long enough) and don't include any of it. Another perfect example was Bruins vs. Jets last night. 4 fights, none of which were in the video. They showed like 1 second of a scrum between Scheifele and Carlo, and nothing else.

Joe Smith I miss the true intensity of games, not just fighting. Like Boston vs Montreal used to feel like a playoff game, there was real hatred, real intensity, tons of hitting... most games nowadays have the atmosphere of a preseason game.
The player salaries are too high these days to make this the regular kind of NHL game. Ask the owners, they will tell you that.

I honestly feel bad for Kassian. Not everyone is talented like McDavid and Draisaitl and that dude makes the best with what hes got. Tied for fourth in goal scoring on the team with RNH and is somehow the only one on the team it seems that can stand up for McDavid. You'd figure if your team can't score they'd at least have plugs to protect the best hockey player in the world. Kassian manages to do both when the rest of the team can do neither.
Great game but shootouts need to go, 3 on 3 for ten minutes then a tie if nobody scores is the way to go

What would be the point in having a simple tie instead of a shootout? Yes, a shootout isn't an ideal way to end the game but it is the best option.
Such a shame that such an incredible hockey game resulted in a shootout. Everyone can agree they would rather have seen that OT continue than end with a skills competition. Please bring us 20 minute 3 on 3 OT!

I think hardcore hockey fans generally hate shootouts but they’re a big favorite of casual fans, and unfortunately there are a lot of those so shootouts probably aren’t going anywhere.

I cancelled as 5 out of 6 games blacked out. I called them and would you believe this! They offered me another month at half price and counldnt tell me if games are blacked out or not. SMH!

The Battle of Alberta will never come back really, the rivalry really started because of divisional play-offs back in the day. The first 2 rounds was to get out of your division, you always saw 2 out of 4 other teams in your division.
Usually Calgary and Edmonton were 1 and 2 in the league, so they always met in round one or two EVERY year, that is how you build rivalries.
Conference playoffs have ruined a few rivalries.

hey gary bettman. this is hockey. every team in the league should play like this. stop trying to get rid of fighting... stop suspending every guy that throws a big hit... stop sending the refs in to break up every potential fight. let the game police itself.
You can call it what you want on Giordano. A sloppy attempt to stop McD. or a dirty play, but the fact of the matter, is highly skilled, fast players are more likely to get hurt. See Crosby, Orr . McD.has to be xtra carefull to avoid injury and the refs need to step it up.

That game was another example of the refs missing calls. Four refs on the ice and calls got missed all game long. When the playoffs do start, I'm hoping these refs will be riding the pine. The game announcers not calling the refs out is part of the problem...
