My choir sang this version last year and I have never felt like I did on that stage. It was beyond goosebumps, it was as if everything in the world was beautiful and whole. You could call in an out of body experience of pure innocent existence. Our audience felt it too. We got a standing ovation and you could see the glimmer of tears as you looked upon the crowd. I wish I could relive that moment every day for the rest of my life.
Thank you, whoever! I don't know who the choir is, but I've been looking all over TH-cam, iTunes, etc. for a decent recording of this voicing. I love the original men's version, but I also love the soaring upper voices of this men's choir/women's trio version, which is how I first heard it. I was introduced to Biebl's "Ave Maria" at the Eastern Arizona College Spring Sing 2001, the farewell concert of Dr. David Lunt, director. His a capella choir encircled the audience and it was as if I could literally feel that glorious sound swirling around me. I was practically bathing in it. This is the closest I've come to that experience. Thanks again!
a stellar group of talent bestowing, as if annointed by the Very Hand of God, this gorgeous rendition! Masterful and stunningly beautiful!! A thousand Thank yous for this inspirational offering!
suuhweet was trying to find a version that did it better than my choir, this is it. my choir performed this just as good as this one, this song holds deep meaning to me.
@ Chriskirby90, it matter not whether you believe a God exists or not, but one can experience a 'heavenly beauty' when listening to music like this...............

The tempi are lovely - not rushed. Don't you just love the final section beginning with the 'Sancta Maria'? It seems as though Biebl REALLY infused into the music his deep gratitude to Mary for bearing Jesus into the world, and his honor to her for her place in Christianity, whether you subscribe to the Eastern (Orthodox) belief that Jesus is the Son of God, or the Western (Latin) view that Jesus IS God.
It's often recommended that 1st sopranos on highest notes just stay with vowels. We're told it shouldn't be noticeable if the other voices are singing the consonants.
+Kevin Lomax as the composer produced this SATB version (as well as another SSA version) I'd say that in _this instance_ it wasn't meant for male and boy choristers.
Boy choirs were developed because women were excluded from any positions of real power in the Catholic Church. Consequently, I dislike boy choirs; I like the full range of adult voices, which includes women, so I am glad to find such a beautiful version in which women take the higher parts. Also, Steven Hall makes a good point.

This has to be the best version I've heard on TH-cam. This song is just sooooo beautiful :) So well done here!
I love how this is in the comedy category

En la Basílica del Pilar (Zaragoza) y con el coro de Hiberi Voces, ¡¡¡suena espectacular!!!
Singing this in chorus
Please mention the performers--they deserve credit, always, as does info about the composer and work.

Wow, could you please identify the performing ensemble? Thank you.

Pls who sing this wonderful theme

We're doing this for All-County Orchestra. The guy's have to chant and the girls get to play. I cannot sing to save my life!
Sounds good to me...but spoken like a true Asian Mom ;>). Again, who's performing this? I agree it's beautiful.

Eastern Orthodox regard Jesus as both Son of God and God.

What?
it almost seems like at a few points Soprano I's forget their pronunciation. other than that, very nice.

Who can say God doesn't exist?
Beautiful, angelic sound, but the choir already made it way flat right in the first couple measures after the first solo.
no no NO...SOME MUSIC SHOULD JUST JUST NOT NOT NOT have woman singing parts that were meant for MALE AND BOY CHORISTERS!!

Tracy Lomax I think it's 8 part
But havent you heard the version with all men double chorus questioning and answering eachother? Its amazing.....listen to chanticleer's version.
I mean the women who did this were really great acapella singers...but listen to chanticleer and tell me what you think.
