Great vid and tutorial! I did notice my Trackball wasn't responding last night when I went into the trackball games category, It must've reassigned itself. I will be giving this a shot later today.
I have a LGU stick and wanted to play trackball gamres in launchbox. Dont get me wrong Awesome sauce is good. But i want my cake and eat it to have various other consoles on and i prefer launchbox as a front end. Can get it all working perfectly apart from the trackball. Thank you for this video you legend. I realised my problems were connecting via bluetooth via steam link. When really all i needed to do was a wired connection. ❤ subscribed!
Awesome vid my dood!! Definitely easy to follow and understand. I’m confident I’ll be able to handle any issues I know I’ll get when my megacade comes. Thanks again for taking the time and making these for the community. 🤘
The only sure way to lock the trackball (or any mouse type controller) is by configuring the mame ctrlr file. Once done your trackball, guns and spinners will be assigned permanently to a configured mouse code. I have 3 spinners, two joysticks, two guns and a trackball on my arcade and they never reassign. Doesn't matter if I'm using a usb hub or "dedicated" USB
Good to know, thanks for the feedback. Just to reiterate, nothing on my playfield in the way of buttons, joysticks, spinner or light guns, etc ever remap themselves. It was just the trackball. Since I applied these tips, mine has never remapped. Good to know we have several ways to fix this.
Dude, great tutorial. I received my machine last Saturday and the trackball does not function. I've been going into Arcade Classics to play trackball games. I'll reset the trackball tonight and see what happens. Thanks again.
Thanks bro! If you follow the tips in this video I'm pretty positive that you will never have a trackball issue again. Especially when you run a dedicated USB cable to the trackball board.
@@Scantron5k Bro, these are very helpful tips. If you or DThomas have time on an instructional vid on mapping controllers, it would be worthwhile. I'm having issues with the mapping for F&F Super Bikes. Thanks again. Should be a good night!
Bro, I tried the reset for trackball. When I scroll with the trackball I don’t see the same prompt you have. I went left to right but mine comes up with a different prompt. What the hell am I doing wrong?
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm not sure how many available USB ports come with the motherboard that Dave uses in his builds. I still have have to wait another 4 months before my Gambox drops.
I have a custom mame cabinet I built myself with an LED trackball. I have not set it up yet. I have it directly plugged into a Pi 4. I do not need an encoder board then?
I'm not currently having any issues with my trackball but just in case, thanks for the video. Quick question, after you do this do you need to go back to the system settings to relock the input general settings?
THANKS FOR THE TIP ALMOST TIME FOR THE BIRTH OF MY MEGACADE KEEP THE GOOD TIPS COMING.
Anytime, brah!

I'm here early Scan. Let's see what this trackball tutorial is about.😁
My G. You know you're always on time, regardless of when you show up. 💯
Yet another life saver I haven't been able to use my trackball in game yet...only to navigate certain things around as a mouse smh
video quality has been up'd! nice
Lol! Barely…
Just finished watching and I must say, this is going to be very helpful for the community. Great vid and tutorial bro. Also, that thumbnail 😂😂😂

I was just thinking, the only cabinet i'd ever want to own would be an all original MK2. lol
It's my fav cab. I've owned my MK2 cab for about 18 years.

@@jeffhalko8011 if you can describe what you're seeing, that would help.

No problem man. I think my PC has about 8 USB ports in it. Somewhere around there.
I see what you did there..here to get us back in track lmao that double entendre
Lol thanks homie.

Hey, I'm pretty sure you do. I can't really give you an exact answer on that because I'm not running a Raspberry Pi.
I'm not currently having any issues with my trackball but just in case, thanks for the video. Quick question, after you do this do you need to go back to the system settings to relock the input general settings?
If you want to, you can. But they should lock automatically after you shut down and turn it back on.
