I haven’t skated in so long and I just went skating at my local rink yesterday. I fell 3 times. But after discovering your videos, I feel more prepared to try again! I’m a very anxious person with social phobia and I’d give anything to let go of my insecurities so I could muster up the moxie to get out of the house more often!!! I’d love to be a student of yours. I’ve never really been athletic but skating was fun when I did it in middle school with my friends so I’ve decided to try it again to get in some more exercise.
Megan Robinson rink skating is amazing. I still rink skate at 34 years old. I have anxiety as well but the music and skating removes it. You will fall. I am pushing myself and learning new things one being dance and the other is skating at the park. I broke my tailbone but I had fun doing it. I have made more friends. We are trying to get more ladies into skating. Just remember you can do it.
I just laugh at myself when I fall, at this point falling is fun because i'm so used to it. But only on the rink floor because it's not as rough... lol
I was this way too until I got pads. Wearing pads might make you look like a dork but you will be surprised at the confidence it gives you. I have been able to try all kinds of things I was afraid to try. I even practice falling in the them. Planet Roller Skate has a video about how to fall!

Can you do a video on beginner skate tricks and what the tricks are called? Street and park. I find myself doing things and I don't even really know if they are considered tricks or what they would be called. Maybe a short run down or some pointers real quick on how to do them. I'd also appreciate a compilation of you skating and the name of the trick written on the bottom part of the screen.

Gotta say great videos, I'm a beginner and have watched some of your videos and did probably what everyone does when they start, stiff as a board scared of falling, although your videos helped me dramatically and by the end of my first hour I was skating with much more confidence. I'm 6 feet 5 inches tall and 264lbs so it can take me a little extra time to down for the drop, squat and save but I really found that useful. Just wanted to say thank you for the great content and look forward to more content.
I learned this at work using round moving sliders under the middle of my feet. I waxed them up and they glided on the tile floors. I used the tip of my toes to stop the motion. I was able to learn the pattern, muscle memory and some bounce. Now when I buy my skates, I can just concentrate on my own style and perFECT my bounce. I learned quite a few dance steps using sliders while saving for my skates. I own roller blades, but they move to fast for dance as a beginner.

Great to see your mom skating. I am 58 and still skate dance. I would recommend that you both wear wrist guards. I would hate for one of you to fall and break your wrist. It is quite common w falls. I wear them everytime I skate regardless of the fact that I am a good skater.

Great video! I was practicing the double zero routine this morning and after about an hour I had something that looked vaguely like it! Tony said there were 8 or 9 variations of the zero. It would be great to get a tutorial that went through them in more detail. Keep up the good work!

In this video I'm using softer wheels, which is actually why I'm a little bit wobby while dancing. Smaller harder wheels, like the Moxi trick wheels, are best.
Yh same... I'm from UK so it's harder to get moxi skates and for the past few months I've always wanted a pair but there so expensive and I don't trust any other brand being good apart from moxi... I'll never be able to afford them but the moxi jungles are a lot cheaper so I might get those for Christmas

this was amazing - was nice and long so you actually got a chance to practice - was also fantastic watching someone learn who is on the same level !

you don't need to have moxi skates ! There's a lot of other brands that are less expansive, might not be as pretty as moxi skates but they roll too :)
