The Prophet Jonah sailed from here, logs came from Lebanon to Joppa to build the second temple in Jerusalem, Dorcas was raised from the dead here, Peter received a vision to take the gospel to the Gentiles in Caesarea here, plus much more.
    Location
    1. Joppa is located about 45 miles (72 km.) west of Jerusalem.
    2. It is located on a hill and has a strategic location on the crossroads of Israel, and the main travel routes linking Africa with Asia and Europe. This travel route was called the “Via Maris.”
    Historical Background
    1. Joppa, Jaffa was the main seaport and entry gate to Israel for thousands of years until just before the time of Christ when Herod the Great built another seaport at Caesarea, about 35 miles (56 km.) north of Joppa.
    2. Legend holds that the founder of Joppa (also called Jaffa) was Japheth, one of Noah’s sons.
    3. Joppa was inhabited by the Canaanites, the Egyptians, the Israelites, the Greeks, Romans, and continuing until modern times.
    4. Joppa (Jaffa or Yafo), is one of the oldest port cities in the land of Israel and the Mediterranean area.
    5. The seaport of Joppa is where the trees of Lebanon arrived that Solomon used to build the Temple in Jerusalem around 950 BC (2 Chronicles 2:16).
    6. Joppa was also the seaport from which King Solomon’s ships came and went on their journeys around the known world at that time.
    7. Joppa, Jaffa was the seaport from which Jonah sailed when he attempted to disobey the Lord’s calling and flee to Tarshish rather than preach a message of repentance to the Ninevites (Jonah 1:3).
    8. Joppa, Jaffa was the seaport where logs arrived for rebuilding the second temple after the return of the Israelites from their deportations in about 535 BC (Ezra 3:7).
    9. After preaching to the Ethiopian Eunuch, Philip the Evangelist passed through Joppa preaching the gospel on his way to Caesarea (Acts 8:39-40).
    10. Joppa was the place a famous woman, Dorcas, lived and was raised from the dead (Acts 9:36-43).
    11. Simon the Tanner lived in Joppa, and it was the place the Apostle Peter was staying when he received the vision to take the Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 10:9-15).

Thank you again for your videos. I'm now checking weekly for a new video. Although us humans don't like to admit it there are times we are all just like Jonah. My son and I enjoy your work. He gets upset if I start a video without him. But that makes my heart happy he likes to learn and hear the stories.

Thank you for correctly speaking on the vision between the Most High and Peter regarding gentiles. It is very frustrating to hear this being perverted and used to justify eating unclean food. Again thank you for speaking on this and aiding clarify this situation. Blessings beloved.

Among the sisters of Joppa the Canaanite, there is Jerash (Gracia) and Ajloun on the eastern side of the Jordan River, and these are also the names of the sons of Noah as well.

Great teaching, Pastor, set to a great backdrop. What would be fantastic (but probably to costly) is if you could take us on the journeys of Paul and all the places and things that happened to him on the way. If I ever win the lottery (I know, I shouldn't be gambling) I'll personally fund it for you, that's a promise. Until then thanks for these wonderful videos.

Love your videos but the Bible doesn’t specifically say Jonah was swallowed by a whale. It was a “big fish”. 😊

    This is b.s. propaganda .
Jews has nothing to do with Yaffa .
You didn't even write the Palestinians name of the city.
I was born there, my dad, my grandfather.
    Your video is big b.s..
Jews did not live in Yaffa
    They are not Yaffawis.

I am tired of injecting books statements goes back thousands of years
What does that do to people lost their properties homes, roads, railroads & train stations, farms rtc etc stolen from them based on such phony claims.
Even in law there's what's called Statute of Limitations even with proof of land ownership.
      Wake up.
