The Fall of Nineveh: Evidence of Biblical Accuracy

  • Does the text called the Bible indeed have any real validity, any worth to people living in the 21st century? Is it just a set of myths and legends of a simpler people in a more primitive time? Does it have any historical accuracy? We review several prophecies found in the book of Nahum which archaeology has confirmed regarding the fall of the ancient city of Nineveh.

Yes and no created being can ever fully grasp the greatness of God nor understand His mighty works, but God has not called us to figure out those high and exalted things, He has simply called us to believe that what He has told us in His word is absolute truth, including His offer of salvation through His holy Son, Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ).
Yes, our God is an awesome God and He is worthy of our love and praises!!
Bless the God of Israel, Maker of heaven and earth, a mighty God and a terrible, full of mercy and compassion, slow to anger and of great kindness, and holy is His name.
May He bless you with all knowledge of the truth and may peace be multiplied unto you ❤

Ezekiel was the prophet 1st in Babylon, but *never preached Sabbaths to the Gentiles!*

@@NowayJose-d3bJonah told them to repent. Repent of what? Sin. What is sin? "For sin IS the transgression of the Law" 1 John 3:4
      What is the Law?

Thank you so much for your video.
I live in Mosul, the old Mosul is on a plataeu rises (25) meters above the level of the river Tigris, on the right side of the river , the western side.
Ancient Nineveh situated on the eastern side of the river, the left side, of the river. It was laid waste and became neglected ruins until it was excavated.
For centuries it was called the wastes of Nineveh.
The river Tigris was a great river, with other rivers flowed in it, one of them goes until today through the walls of ancient Nineveh from east to west. In the ancient time, the river was split into two branches (35) miles to the north of Nineveh forming an island of (30) miles length, and (4-10) miles in breadth; all that land was Nineveh.
Ancient Nineveh became a renegade after prophet Jonah. His tomb is at Nineveh ruins.
Prophet Nahum lived in a small village called (Al-quosh), (40 miles) north of Mosul of today ( his tomb is stil there), warned the Assyrians to return to prophet Jonah's teachings or they would be obliterated, but they didn't take heed. Nahum' s family , with other many people, were brought from the Northern Kingdom of Israel and resettled there, as well as many other people in other places to the north and near Nineveh, including the very original people of Mosul who were on the plataeu on the right side of the river, and it was they who founded the city of Mosul after the total annihilation of the Assyrians.
Mosul will not be inundated by waters of the river or by rain no matter how much the river level rises, for it is on a plateau. So the people whom were brought from kingdom of Israel, and from Jewdah when Sanharieb (Sancreb) invaded Jewdiah, by the Assyrians, and they were resettled on the plataeu, and the rest of the people whom were brought from northern Kingdom of Israel and Jewdah and were scattered in land of Assyria, they inherited the whole land of the Assyrians. And they owned the land since then until they were evicted from their land and home, and had to leave all their properties and depart Iraq in (1951), apart from those, majority, who embraced Christianity since early second century, the Christians of Iraq, and others became Muslims.
It seemed that the Babylonians blocked or obstructed the flow of the river Tigris south of Ancient Nineveh which caused the water level of the river to rise, and most probably accompanied by heavy rain which often occurs in spring; that must have caused the quick fall of ancient Nineveh, and the vast majorty of the Assyrians to be annihilated.
From the old days the people of Mosul know Nineveh.

I watched another documentary on Ninevah. The narrator spoke of a "mysterious" force- possibly a great flood-would destroy Ninevah. When I heard this, I was amazed by God's purposeful destruction of the city. The narrator never made reference to scripture. He just stated that something- perhaps a great flood?- would destroy Ninevah. Immediately I got chills and filled with amazement because God's Word is never wrong. He is the absolute Truth. I'm so glad I found your video, because I've been sort of flooded by whispers to cause me to doubt. I prayed to God about it and shortly after, He led me to these documentaries. Thank you!❤️✝️❤️

Growing up, I listened to the critiques of the Bible. Namely that it was historically inaccurate. The example that has always been in my mind has been the rejection of an empire known as the Hittites. Today, its existence is considered "common" knowledge.

Despite how strong and powerful a city is, a person is, etc. God is much more stronger in fact our God is ALL POWERFUL. That's why everyone of us who ever lived or are living currently in this world should humble ourselves before God. He has all power and authority in heaven and on earth or God who is our Lord Jesus Christ. No one at all is more powerful than our Saviour and our God.

It must be remembered that ancient Assyria had TWO capitals cities. Greater Nineveh (and its communities) was the latter or later capital EAST of the Tigris River (see TH-cam video running time 11:35-36), EAST of Mesopotamia, near modern day Iraq's second largest city Mosul. Assyria's earlier or former capital was ancient Asshur, the only city found by Assyriologists WEST of the Tigris River IN Mesopotamia. Asshur was one of the five sons of Shem, and one of many of Noah's grandsons ("22 [verse] The sons of Shem were Elam, [Elamites] Asshur, [Assyrians] Ar-pach-shad, [Chaldeans] Lud [Lydians?], and A'ram [Syrians])." (Genesis Chapter 10: Verse 22 NWT or New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures) Moreover, the ancient Assyrians deified Asshur as a deity, and he was worshipped as a god by these Semitic people who engaged in idolatrous worship. Nineveh's and Assyria's downfall was attributed to another Semitic people and nation, primarily, the Neo-Babylonian Dynasty, Empire, and its progenitor Nabopolassar, and his son Nebuchadnezzar the 2nd, both kings of Babylon and Chaldea, ancient empires in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley area and beyond, of what is today southeastern Iraq.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
I already know the Bible is accurate. When I say Bible I’m talking about the Bible God uses, a King James (not version) Bible.
