We even got a polydactile cat once ( he had actual thumbs ), our little Monkey boy, found him abandoned in the dead of winter, sitting on a manhole cover trying to keep warm. We took him right into our home ( after a quick trip to the vet to make sure he was healthy and ok ) and Monkey was the bestest most loving boy ever for the next 7 years until he passed in 2007. It hurts like blazes when they pass away but the joy of having them is greater than the pain of losing them.
I did the same. Bought my cat, Sebastian, from a shelter. We just loved each other so much. We got into serious discussion sometimes when he would knock things off my desk. He passed after 12 years and I miss him everyday. The best choice I made in my life.
I hate it when he asks that question.... "Rescue or pure bred".... I've worked in a major shelter and been involved in rescue for awhile... Both are loving, wonderful pets as long as it's a reputable breeder.
All dogs can be loving. The issue is that breeders abuse dogs (breeding dogs for money is ABUSE...PERIOD) and when you buy from a breeder you are CONDONING animal abuse. All dogs need a home but not all homes deserve a dog.
It sounds to me like these women had NO idea how to safely breed this dog. These two women struck a deal that the plaintiff would provide a female dog for the defendant to breed and in exchange, she would get her pick of the puppies if the breeding was successful. The defendant said she tried to breed at least two female Maltese dogs a couple of times and those breedings all failed. Then, she breeds this little Maltese....its finally a successful breeding, but there is a host of problems. The mother goes into labor 8 days early (which is HIGHLY dangerous for mother and puppies). Two of the puppies died immediately. Then, the mother delivers 2 more pups and she was having trouble during labor and so the defendant took her to the vet, where she learned that one of the puppies had died inside the mother, making the mother septic. And of the five puppies, she claims that NONE of them survived. Maltese are small dogs. They are considered a toy breed. They are very beautiful, intelligent, affectionate dogs. It is HIGHLY dangerous for toy breeds like a Maltese to breed. They are very small dogs. Their birth canals are narrow. If the stud isn't chosen very carefully, the puppies could be too big to get out of the birth canal. There could be genetic issues if one of the parents isn't genetically strong. The fact that they were born a week too early could absolutely account for the fact that the pups died. IF puppies are born premature, they require A LOT of care for them to thrive.....especially if the mother is septic and has just undergone surgery and can't nurse them. And I honestly think that last pup somehow survived and rather than fulfilling her end of their deal (which was to give the plaintiff a puppy), the defendant KEPT the puppy or sold the puppy to recoup her losses for this tragedy. Because otherwise, she would have TOLD her good friend, the plaintiff, that the last pup died. I think her wording to the animal control officer was VERY interesting. She didn't say "the puppy died, along with his siblings." She said "I can't give her what I don't have." That could EASILY be interpreted as "she SOLD the puppy and didn't want to part with the money so it WAS technically no longer with her"
Breeders make my physically ill, I hope people think about this nonsense the next time they buy an anima for hundreds while animals are put down in shelters :(
That just leaves those bred animals in a bad place then. What needs changing is lawd and regulations not where you get your pet from. The animals are innocent.
My husband and I found an English Bulldog on craigslist. When we went to get her she had a horrible rash all over her belly. She just looked ill. Of course we took her home with us. The woman's phone is disconnected, so no way to tell where she lives to report her. Our Edna is now a very healthy 2yr old.
The defendant is a liar. She said there was only 3 living puppies but proceeded to describe the death of 4 puppies . I’m surprised judge milian didn’t call her out
I think she meant that 2 were stillborn, then there were three that survived birth, and subsequently died so many weeks later. But after the delivery of the first 5, she was so sick, went to vet, and vet said she still had one pup, but it had died in utero. The mother was probably too exhausted to delivery any longer, so she needed to have an emergency hysterectomy to remove the dead pup and the uterus. I bet if it was a bigger dog, they may have attempted a c-section, but since she was so small, the risk of losing her was probably higher than her being able to survive with her fertility intact.

Apparently, he had flat back kitten syndrome, something I had never heard of.

I hate these dog breeder cases. Too often, the dog's health is the last concern. Guess what's usually the first concern... (Yes, some breeders are wonderful and love their dogs with all their heart, but those are all too few😔.)
My rescue dog is so beautiful, she has nothing but love and loyalty and really just wants to be around me all day ❤ She was in such a bad way when i got her and was unfortunately in pup. We ended up having to put the pups down because they were so vicious! 😢 we couldn't rehome dogs that were attacking other animals and humans 😔💔 she was spayed not long afterward so she never has to have pups again and she spends her days infront of the fire and her evenings at my feet ❤
Ok I will say this as a person who has owned rescues and currently has a pure bred that I bought from a pet store. Yes some pet stores get their animals from puppy mills. However, tell me what happens to the dogs if they are born and nobody buys them from a pet store because "rescues are more worthy" or "they used a puppy mill"? I'll tell you what happens: THEY GET PUT DOWN. So yes, rescue dogs when you can. But don't turn your nose up at a pure bred or at a pet store dog because they are animals too and they deserve homes to.
I’ve always thought about that aspect myself but I think it’s just the mentality of not supporting a bad industry. In the end there are mix breeds and pure breeds sitting in shelters.
This is the shi that happens when you hand over dogs for breeding and whelping to someone who is basically clueless. No ethical breeder operates like this.
These ladies and people like them should be ashamed, Dogs are no more to them than money machines. I can't believe that they had the nerve to come on TV!!
If the plaintiff is 'Mentoring' the defendant, then why didn't she instruct her on what to watch for as per labor, the defendant didn't even recognize it, what to do if a pup was left inside etc. She left the defendant floundering, then says 'I know what she's like', so if that's the case, don't go into a deal like this with someone less experienced. Our neighbors dog had pups in our dog house (Unbeknownst to us) we found her and her pups in the cold of winter, and kept the pups alive, not being experienced, so these two are idiots!! That dog is now our Molly for 12 years, after those neighbors abandoned her about 6 months later.
My 1st lab had 2 have an emergency C-section due 2 1st pup being breached. It was 1st dog I had pregnant and wasn't sure when she would deliver. Sunday Evening she was leaking fluid and no labor by early Monday morning so took her 2 vet. I lived in SMALL town no Emergency Vet so had to go at 7 Monday morning. Layla had Emergency C-section and I picked her up about 5 hrs later and sadly 3 pups didn't make it. I was NOT gonna take her 2 vet , leave, wait till next morning.
To sell a purebred for that much money I would expect for the puppy to have registration paperwork from the AKC so the puppy can be registered. Paperwork would include the names & registration verification of the male & female that were bred to have the puppy. The names of the owners of the mom & dad would be included. I have to wonder if anyone checked with the AKC to find out if the defendant registered the litter in order to get the paperwork to give the buyer. If so , did anyone register a puppy from that litter?
Defendant- I don't have the dog, I DONT HAVE THE DOG. Meanwhile she has her fingers crossed behind her back. And the missing puppy is at the neighbors house.
I got my pure breed golden retriever after these awful people left him to die after he was just a couple months old. They were being investigated for insurance fraud and were just blowing their money on a bunch of expensive things without care. They paid a lot of money for him since he was pure bred, but found out he was worthless because he was sterile and had other issues due to inbreeding (he had a stroke at a young age that cause the skin around his left eye to sag). Once they found out he was "worthless" they left him to die and went on the run from the cops. We found him and took him in. Later, we found out he was pure bred and what had happened with his previous owners. He lived almost 17 years with us and passed away in the night a few years ago. RIP Lucky.

They are it’s hard finding cute glasses or stylish ones 😂
Look at zennioptical.com I buy all my glasses from there. Super cheap and amazing styles
How convenient that in all these types of cases the puppies all happened to die
That's an issue with pure breds and the rush for a litter though. It makes sense that with screwed up genetics plus the stress I imagine the dog is placed under would lead to such things.
In this case 8 days is far too early! I am suprised they lived for some days.. on day 60 they should manish and be strong enough to survive. But this was on day 55..
Wow, breed animals are so expensive. Jeeez, I got an unwanted cat with all the vet work already done for 50 bucks at the local animal shelter and she's a great, loyal and loving animal. She's of no discernable breed, so there's no snob appeal at all, but for the price of an afternoon of drinking beer at the local Veteran's club, I got a perfectly good pet.
Six months have gone by since you posted. You're awesome for getting a rescue kitty! How is she doing?
@@JamieM470 She's doing better than ever, it seems she's discovered that she likes affection and when I'm watching tv, she will crawl on top of my belly and chest and demand that I pet her while she purrs away like a machine. She definitely likes having a friend and follows me from room to room, wherever I am, that's where she will go, and at night she sleeps on her little catty blanket at the foot of the bed. I don't know what happened to her during the first part of her life, but she's gone from being shy and timid to relaxed and very affectionate. She also likes her laser pointer ' mousey ' and loves to chase the red point on the carpet. Sometimes she'll hop up on the coffee table and stare right at you until you bring out her ' mousey ' and play with her. She's really fitting in very well.
@@patrickchubey3127 I can't tell you how happy I am that you answered! Rescues are the best! Your kitty sounds like she has come to love & trust you, and is happily living her best life :)
Thank you for that, and God bless :)
@@JamieM470 I've been keeping cats as pets for most of my life, and some of the very best cats I've ever had just walked into my yard right off the street, strays and throw a ways and yet they've made such good pets over the years.
She didn't say "the puppy died, along with his siblings." She said "I can't give her what I don't have." That could EASILY be interpreted as "she SOLD the puppy and didn't want to part with the money so it WAS technically no longer with her"
Something about breeding dogs like this seems like abuse to me
Breeders make my physically ill, I hope people think about this nonsense the next time they buy an anima for hundreds while animals are put down in shelters :(
animal*
My dog is a rescue. My next dog will be a rescue.
That just leaves those bred animals in a bad place then. What needs changing is lawd and regulations not where you get your pet from. The animals are innocent.
They way they sounded so unattached talking about these dogs like they didn't even care and even referring to them as "it" 💀💀💀
My husband and I found an English Bulldog on craigslist. When we went to get her she had a horrible rash all over her belly. She just looked ill. Of course we took her home with us. The woman's phone is disconnected, so no way to tell where she lives to report her. Our Edna is now a very healthy 2yr old.
I’m not trying to get off track but the people outside...one woman has on a coat and another had no sleeves. What is the temperature?
Sounds like Fabian was not quite the "stud" 🤣
I hate cold hearted breeders 😡 they just kept saying “dog” like they were all the same 😢😢😢😢😣 poor babies
Stephanie Ramirez - yes....horrible heartless, both of them. Karma, please do your thing!
Right and calling the dogs “it” instead of at least she/he
They are all the same.
Adoption dont shop! Always rescue!❤
@eddiesaviary.com even a breeder that isn’t an asshole is still contributing to over population of dogs
@@JennifuhhGilardi so what do you want us to do let the breeder puppies not get adopted and find homes🤨 Then they'll end up in shelters too... either way a puppy needs a home, oh my 🤦🏽♀️
Adoption isn't as easy as everyone seems to think. Also dogs are always going to be bred so they could also end up in a shelter if not sold.
This is breed/show world. Totally normal business deals.. but never heard of any deals without contract!! Really important, every little detail written down!!
That's a lot of dead dogs!! Please tell me neither of these ladies are breeding or dog owners anymore!!
The defendant suddenly changing her tune when the judge was going to call Animal Control proves to me that she's a liar. Why else would she suddenly change her story and tell Animal Control that instead???
These people that spend $3000 on a dog kill me!!!! Never buy from a breeder!!! You should always rescue!!!!!
How could you give the mother away like that ... these breeders are despicable ...
Two REALLY screwed up bizzaro old Karens!!
Whew! Wowzers!
I agree with the post below. How could you so callously just give away your dog for a puppy?
Both of these women are unfortunately typical of a lot of breeders. My place of business was located for a number of years next door to a groomer who was also a breeder of cocker spaniels. Same attitude, same treatment of animals as an income stream. Sad
BOTH are disgusting! Treating dogs like MONEY! She was actually going to GIVE UP her dog for a puppy from the litter? WHAT A MONSTER!
Those two hag's should be ashamed of themselves. I purchased a beautiful Devon Rex kitten, gave the breeder $300 deposit. I couldn't wait to get my baby home. The breeder calls and tells me he was sick, then he passed away. She DID not return my $300.00, and I wonder if he did die. Apparently, he had flat back kitten syndrome, something I had never heard of.
Both of them need help, they do not care about the dogs
This literally turns my stomach!!!
yet ANOTHER case of "It wasn't about the money!" She only got $2500 but yet was suing for much more...yeah, it was about the money or you'd be suing for $1
Poor mama puppy and Pops this is so disgusting and atrocious freaking money hungry psychos breeding them for money #terrible
“I only waited until the following morning after to see if one was breach?! I was surprised with a preview rescue and still knew to take to ER immediately for any breach pups. That is a life-threatening emergency and they would’ve taken that dog immediately not told to wait for hours she downplayed that situation and chose to wait. Sickening people like this don’t deserve dogs
Anyone that can give up their own a dog for profit is a witch…..
Breeders are despicable. These are lives and they treat them as produce. Makes me sick.
Anybody can call themselves a breeder, so it’s a generalization that they are “despicable“. Good breeders take excellent care of their breeding animals.
@@Fumi007 they are still using the animals for their capital gain. They should be companion animals, not a meal ticket.
@@wholoveskitty The animals they're breeding ARE companion animals. My cat (from a breeder) is obstructing my view as I type. She's my buddy.
@@Fumi007 but she is also your source of income?
@@wholoveskitty No, because she's spayed so it's phyiscally impossible to breed her.
Plaintiff says "I know what she's like" and the defendant just stands there smiling like an idiot.
This is absolutely disgusting.
I wish breeding dogs like this for money was outlawed! It's just wrong.
Team Rescue all the way!!!
In Australia people have to be registered breeders now. Or you can’t sell dogs or cats.
I had a dog and brought him to the ER vet a few times....there was no comeback in a few hours. i dont believe that. she sold those dogs
Oh my God the plaintiff s dry mouth is driving me crazy it's giving ME dry mouth. Sorry for the comment I know it's not a big deal, but it's driving me 🥔🥜🌰😵🥴😬
Omg now that you pointed it out, that's all I hear when she speaks lol
Some folks can’t do anything about it. Can you imagine how she might feel dealing with that?
Interesting link between owner and dogs looks.
These people sell dogs before they're even born, doesn't coincide with Love at all.
The defendant desperately needs a hair treatment to get rid of that frizz!
🤣🤣
WISE JUDGE
Plaintiff at the end, it wasn't about the money. Then why try to get double the money.
How is it that these puppy breeders sell uncertified dogs for the same price as if they were registered AKC pedigree dogs? And why did these puppies die one after the other, over a period of many weeks? Both these women should be investigated...
“How do I prove that the dog died?” Bring the damn corpse if you have to! Sheesh! 🤦♂️
Or bring the dog to the vet. Even if the dog is dead you can get a report and figure out what happened. Dog autopsies are a thing.
I can't understand people who treat dogs like livestock.
It sounded like that poor female dog had pyometra (pus filled womb) . Should have gone to the vets days before she went into labour
A rescue dog is nice, until it rips your kids face off
What AWFUL women! These sweet animals are NOTHING but a dollar sign to them! You should BOTH never be allowed to have ANY animals EVER!
I hate these dog breeder cases. Too often, the dog's health is the last concern. Guess what's usually the first concern...
(Yes, some breeders are wonderful and love their dogs with all their heart, but those are all too few😔.)
I don't blame the plaintiff for not trusting the defendant, they're both shady AF
She was gonna ABANDON her dog for a new puppy....
Heartless....
Plaintiff looks like Trish Stratus grandma edition.
I would be annoyed if Doug grabbed my shoulder. He does everyone like that.
ADOPT!!!! Don’t shop!
Seems like a lot of wheeling and dealing with dogs in the black market. That sounds a bit illegal 👀
It's not black market or illegal at all. It's awful, but it is legal
Yeah, the dog didn't die and she kept it.
My rescue dog is so beautiful, she has nothing but love and loyalty and really just wants to be around me all day ❤
She was in such a bad way when i got her and was unfortunately in pup. We ended up having to put the pups down because they were so vicious! 😢 we couldn't rehome dogs that were attacking other animals and humans 😔💔 she was spayed not long afterward so she never has to have pups again and she spends her days infront of the fire and her evenings at my feet ❤
So two Karens walk into a kennel……
😉🥴😃😵💫🥰
Dog breeding should be illegal.
That's stupid.
She sold that dog 😂
Harvey so sarcastic 😂😂😭😭 “mhm mhm me too”
Another breeding nightmare story
These ladies and people like them should be ashamed, Dogs are no more to them than money machines. I can't believe that they had the nerve to come on TV!!
“A lot of things , no kidding, everyone agrees w that”
😂😂😂😂
Was there any proof of them first 2 bit ches now conceiving?????
She said it wasn’t about the money 😳
Yeah that's a complete lie!
The groomer needs a groomer🤣🤣
Puppy Mill ! Both of them
I think it’s disgusting the way she talk about these living creatures. Neither of them should be allowed near animals.
Another Bad Ruling. JM is beyond incompetent. She should have awarded a MINIMUM of $3,000 bc there was proof that's what was paid for an Adult!
Who are these people dealing with dogs as if they were cars or else. Shameful and disgusting
Those papers aren't worth the ink they are printed with..they literally are worthless.
The fact that they’re treating the dogs like business deals and objects is so sad… they traded them around and made to have S E X .. so sad..
So where's the dog? Did it die or did she keep it
she sold it, that's why she was saying it was dead
Defendant- I don't have the dog, I DONT HAVE THE DOG.
Meanwhile she has her fingers crossed behind her back. And the missing puppy is at the neighbors house.
What evil old women.
Shame at her..treating dog like merchandise.. they aren't.. all they want its treat and cuddle..those women have no heart.
Screams puppy mill to me :(
I got my pure breed golden retriever after these awful people left him to die after he was just a couple months old.
RIP Lucky.
Ewww! They’re both lying.
