    Only strong and selfless people can do that. I traveled with my son who suffers epilepsy and I can relate.

      @@OrdinaryExtraordinaryI know I said this in a comment already, but the disabled community DO NOT like when an able-bodied person calls their needs special! Also as someone who is autistic and has intellectual disability, I don’t understand (and dislike) why non-disabled people think out needs are "special", I think this just leads back to the whole I N S P I R A T I O N P O R N thing. It also just sounds childish and NOT all disabled people have got the minds of children, please remember that! Both of what I just stated is the reason why we should be learning or "unlearning" these things from people who are actually disabled themselves and not when it's from their non-disabled/able-bodied parents/family/careers! If you want to educate yourself on this matter, please visit this web page:www.meriahnichols.com/3-reasons-say-disability-instead-special-needs/

    You're so wonderful parents! My mother tried to kill me several times cause l got a chronical disease by birth, it is Mb.hirschsprung and l needed 38 surgeries before l turned four.
    Wheneverr l see you and the family it makes me happy! I see that kids can be happy with parents and l do everything l can to make my son be happy as much as l can! Be blessed and feel be loved and happy! Lord's with you!

      She tried to kill you!!!!? What?!

    • @ConnyNordlicht
      @ConnyNordlicht 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoraBea Yes, she did so, several times.For years we got a nurse at home so she couldn't do something bad with us. She wanted to drown us into water, when I was a baby she pthrew me away from the baby - thing where nappies are changed. Don't know the word. She hit me so that I was put away from home for one whole year. That was the best year in my childhood, but my brothers I missed so much. From 4 to 5. She is multi - psychotic and she, too, loves to hit us so we kids had pain. She did the same with my dad! It was horror, my childhood. I saved my 2 little bro's. As soon as I could. We all moved the same day when she was shopping food. We had to hurry up and hide away for months. It was hard but so I got who I'm now and I can love and I help where I can. My colors a|e different to hers. She's old now, the „father“ is dead and that's good for me. He never helped and hit us when she wanted us to cry. That's no behave of a father!

    I appreciate how you guys don't talk in a condescending manner to your kids, I see it far too often with children regardless of having disabilities but it especially irks me when people treat people with disabilities as less than. props to you guys!! love and light from Melbourne xo

      Thanks Mia. Appreciate your kind words, and agree. The boys contribute a lot to our family discussions and often pick up things that we don't see or get... would be a shame to diminish that and undervalue them. We are up in Brisbane at the moment!

    I freakin' love this! We're about to fly to Italy so we've gotta prep for all this too - medication, sensory stuff, the works. yay! thank u for modeling it :) As fellow parents to a child with special needs, can I ask what are like the top 3 things you wish the public knew about being a parent to a child with a disability?

    • @TheByard
      @TheByard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I'm public and after seeing this I have an even better idea what your going through. But please don't think all the dirty looks are aimed at you, there can be a number of reasons for them. Like having just completed a 12 hr. shift at work, 2 hr. travel time to airport plus check in etc. Then the flight of how long? and travel at the other end. I was planning on some sleep on the plane but that didn't happen. Who's problem was it, well it could be mine for thinking the whole plane would sleep. or that I should have travelled the next day after a nights sleep.
      Would I blame you well NO, because you are trying your best to give the lovely little boys a great life. I have seen spoilt brats tearing through economy class while their parents sat back in business and slurped G&Ts.
      You did great have distractions to keep the boys busy.
      Keep on travelling and stay safe.

    Flying for some people can be stressful at any given time. Most people who have flown before would agree that flying in an aircraft alongside young children can also be stressful ( at times). But most people would think that flying with young children who have special considerations would be almost impossible - your video clearly proves this WRONG. Congratulations on a great video I also have nothing but respect for the both of you .

    Kudos to you guys! Only parents can tolerate all of this and not get upset. I can totally understand and relate to the stress you guys must have gone through. I have an 11 years old son who is on the low functioning side of autism spectrum. With lots of training, and by taking him on many short flights with us, my wife and I have trained him enough that our last 17 hours direct flight from Toronto to Manila turned out to be way better than we had expected. Having said that, its not always that smooth and we do have our fair share of bad flight experiences. Keep exploring and make them both lovely boys a part of your explorations and travels. ❤

    We just did a flight to Seattle and a cruise to Alaska with our daughter. Lots of bags, Medical equipment, and waiting for TSA to check everything. Hardest part is hoping your checked medical equipment gets to your destination (we are still missing one). We have experienced a mixed bag, some great, caring, helpful people, and some nasty, cold, awful people. It's really hot or miss. Honestly, we have never been able to get a lift to the gate. Getting through the airport is so stressful

    • @OrdinaryExtraordinary
      @OrdinaryExtraordinary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. We usually get off the planes last... wait for everyone else to disembark and then off we go :) We've learnt to allow extra time at airports at both ends of the flight. Hope you enjoyed the video :)

      Hey Virginia! He does have bilateral cochlear implants. He is profoundly deaf and wouldn't hear a thing without them. A miracle of modern medicine!
