it's still amazing to me that everyone seems to think australia is a dangerous-animal-filled hellscape, and yet we rarely have any deaths from wild animal encounters, to the point that when we do it's like national news. meanwhile the US is like "hold my bear" I'd take a hundred huntsman spiders in my house over a single brown recluse

There's a handful in the US, but I've got no clue if they're as good as their Aussie counterparts. I've actually got a US copy of Starfox with a Cashies tag on it. The tag is for a whopping $1.99, so I have no clue when it's from but I'd pin it to be fairly old.
I almost died when you started going "Waaaaaaah" over the baby monitor. That was too funny, mate! Now that you have a VHS camcorder, you need to do a whole DankPods video using it.
I love how dank talks about the sticker trick every single time and sounds like he genuinely believes he's telling you life changing information everytime
Cashies is just a magic land. My local one has had the same lawnmower waiting to be purchased since I moved here…. 3 years ago. It’s also got a guitar wall next to the clubs. Nice place
I'm surprised he still hasn't bought one of those perfectly cromulent golf club to be a companion for the 1 grit, for when the 1 grit is a bit too tired that day.
The intro where you're coming in made me feel like I was locked in a dungeon, waiting for the dungeon jailer to come give me my slop of the day, but he feels bad for me so he tries to be cheerful about the slop. I don't know where I was going with this.
DUDE! That Fisher Price baby monitor brought up memories! My mom had one for me (1996), and my sisters (1998, and 2000 respectfully)! I remember her tucking me in at night and everything!
I love that the baby monitor makes it sound like dank is just talking to us from a shadow dimension of nothingness in which his voice reverberates throughout eternity
I remember having a slot car kit as a kid. Got it new for Christmas one year and in less than 10 minutes I ended up breaking 4 corner pieces and could only make an oval. Ended up having a car whizz off the track and smack me in the face. Good times.
There was a pawn shop of a similar nature in Asheville, North Carolina called Cash Converters several years ago, with a completely different logo, but they call themselves Cash Masters now
The scalextric brings back such amazing memories for me. Countless hours wiggling track back and forth to get a good connection and pulling the braided copper contacts down so the car didnt cut out mid corner.
Your cashies videos actually taught me how useful Cashies can be, needed a TV for a VCR I'd bought and managed to pick up a cheap TV in Chashies for £5, so thank you for helping me save countless pennies with the knowledge of chashies!
Those race tracks genuinely taught me an important life lesson: if you can't figure something out, leave it for a while anc come back later. When I was around 10, I was fiddling with one of those tracks way past my bedtime, getting more and more frustrated by the minute because I couldn't get the track I was trying to improvise to fit with the pieces. My mum told me to go to sleep and look at it again in the morning, I reluctantly accepted, and fixed it first try next morning. Love these tracks (mine was a little less janky, 2005 was a safer time).
Cashies returns, as do some old favorites at the store. I'm seriously tempted to actually set aside time to visit one of these should I end up down there...
3 things: 1) MacGregor is actually a decent brand of club! Used to be low A/high B tier and I believe them and a few other brands were bought out by a different company and make solid package sets now. 2) I believe that putter was a Bullseye putter which are still worth a decent 10-20 freedom eagles. 3) The first (I think) version of the LEGO train sets used a somewhat similar system to connect to their own tracks, though it was at most 24 Volts (and was probably 12 max). Simple brick pieces touched to the outside of the metal tracks, causing the signal to go through. It was awesome.
Aaah maaan, I can smell that Scale Electric from here! The stink of nostalgia. My dad boarded up part of our attic floor and made a bench we could sit on that he wired up so it had some plug sockets in it. We had a huge scale electric track up there that we'd change up from time to time. He even went as far as to record the iconic bass part from The Chain over and over again on a cassette tape because it was the F1 theme on Channel 4 in the UK at the time. Stuff like this makes me realise what a mad lad my dad is. He also let us climb all over their half built extension and scaffolding like we were at one of those ball pit play places, except you know... Was just boards, metal work, and a fuck load of concrete and bricks.
I treat this mini series like a show, each episode is so wonderful that I need popcorn or some snack to accompany me along one of these beautiful episodes
Something about the feedback on the baby monitor shifting and changing slightly, then cutting out to let a crystal clear "WAAAHHH" through was hilarious
That HTC Desire was my first smart phone and I loved it to death. I still have it and the battery still holds after all these years. It definitely boots up faster than yours, all I get is an HTC splash screen and then I'm good to go. I miss the IR "track ball" as it made scrolling through shit so comfortable. Super awesome to see someone else with it!
