I can't stop listening to this!! The phrasing is sublime, intuitive, and so easy to follow on Devon's journey. Awesome !! I am inspired.
Not only is she an awesome player but one of the sweetest most appreciative people on planet earth. She got her chops from her dad and took it from there. She’s been killin it since she was a teen in Temecula.

Through my whole life (64)I've enjoyed good riff guitars from well talented women. In 70s as teen I loved Nancy Wilson playing "barracuda" and then came Lita Ford and today i follow Lari Basilio and now im just aware about Watch Devon Jane Eisenbarger. Im incoditional follower of good music. I play guitar and piano and some drums but not in this level. They are all profesional talented guitar players!! Cheers for the players, for Fender and others brands in music and for all the electronic science that thnk to it its posible the terrific sound (This was the reason when I was teen I chose to study Electronic Engineer, to understand, build and fix those great effects) Cheers for the talent!!!!!!

No seriously, you can play this in the background, unlike most demo videos where someone plays the same blues progression with the same sound. Devon is very talented and this is the most entertaining demo I've seen.

Cherry Smoke I like both SSS and HSS configurations of the Ultra. I’m just recently getting into HSS Strats though; I’ve always played single coil Strats and kept the HBs on other guitars. But, I picked up a G&L Legacy HSS a few months ago, which is pretty much a Strat with righteous pups. I like how that HB sounds in the bridge of the G&L, so I’m ready to put it in a good Strat. I don’t have a lot of money, but I try to get myself something nice once a year. Once I figured out that I was wasting that money somewhere else anyway, I decided to put it into a guitar at least once a year instead.

Trying to decide between hss and sss for the ultra. Does anyone have actual experience with both? Don't care about speculation or adjacent knowledge. For reference, it'll be my only axe for a while.

If you decide to get one, it won't take long for you to appreciate where that money went. I've got an S-S-S Ultra, and a couple of American Pro Strats. The American Pros are nice, but nowhere near as nice as my Ultra.
@otto the awesome Could well be. $285 or so for a new Strat in the 60's, roughly equivalent to around $900 today, while the Ultra is $2000. No Ultra here (yet or IF I do), but 2 absolutely wonderful American Pros in the last couple years. Park around 5 bucks a day for almost a year for one, then do it again. It sure beats renting a toaster or keeping the car sparkly detailed.
Full rosewood neck on one, maple on the other, and like most Strats, one QUITE different from the other, and each one GREAT...lately I'm thinking I'm just too darn happy to consider the Ultra! You're worth it. I get that you didn't say you can't afford it, but simply that it's overpriced. Of course most all things become "used" and nearly all models will at first depreciate, hope you'll end up with what you most enjoy!
it's less than 1/3 what a japanese strat was in the 80s, accounting for inflation. it's $1k less than the lowest priced suhr you can buy(also a great deal).
it's 3 months salary at minimum wage. in most states, you can't even get a used car that can pass inspection for a year for that... it's "high" compared to a lot of things(used strats, or a warmoth build, for instance), but for a good strat, in the new market, it's not bad at all.

Really amazing player, but those "noiseless singles" aka stacked humbuckers, sound like POOOOOP.
If you want a true strat sound, deal with the cycle hum. If you want high gain, get another guitar with some humbuckers! There is still not a good "noiseless single" option out there.
@Chris Greene the "gen4" "gen5" crap is a gimmick. it has been the same basic technology all along. they are stacked humbuckers with the coils stacked on top of one another. they try to then re-introduce the loss of high end with some trickery. they sound like butt every time.
a true single coil's sound is a result of the resonant frequency and full signal from the coil. it just can't be replicated without the cycle hum. not yet anyway.
