My niece and nephew did that.. niece always ask Grandma to play Downtown on the Lowry organ.. Nephew would walk around the house singing Under Cover Angel😂😂. What a kid!! He was only 5 yrs old. We laughed so hard, go figure. It just must be the melody that catches childrens' attention. RIP, Ron. You're still my goofy little nephew. ❤
My favorite song , first time I heard that song I was still in the Philippines it was 1985 waiting for my Mom petition for U.S as an immigrant. Now I'm here in 🇺🇸 U.S.
I've always thought this was one of the most beautiful songs Peter and Gordon also had one that you just sat and listened. ....about every couple years we all find the one or two pieces of music / song that touches our soul...
BetaGems...One of my favorite duo & I just found one of their early album today in very good condition "Chad & Jeremy/I Don't Want To Lose You Baby" Columbia CL 2398.
These miming to the studio recording performances remind me of every episode of "American Bandstand" I ever watched. Even Steely Dan had to lip-synch to their record on ABS.
In the 60's the great duos were The Everly Brothers, Chad & Jeremy, Peter & Gordon, and Simon & Garfunkel., oh how bout Sonny & Cher? lol. I think that might be it...I can't think of any female duo tho?...But if you can think some, please feel free to add to the list lol.
Chad and Jeremy didn't need a recording to make an impression. They had great music. To even imply they did this performance to a recording is ludicrous. Shame on you for even suggesting.
I think the people are cheated when they expect a live performance. You can hear the violin track and there are no violinists playing. Chad & Jeremy were fully capable of playing live, so this is a disappointment 😢
Lip synch garbage. They didn’t have to do this; they sounded great-and continued to sound great until Chad’s death. Never understood why TV producers had groups do this. No reason for it.
Maybe they still sound as great as they did in 1964 because they're playing a recording? Nobody, but nobody is that good to record it perfectly like the record. Obviously a fake performance done to the recording.
Still makes me smile after all these years, thank you God bless Chad and Jeremy😊
God bless Chad & Jeremy for performing some very lovely songs.
I first heard this song
when Chad and Jeremy were on Batman.Time been good to them they
even still have their hair.
Brings tears to my eyes
One of my favorites, many years ago!
Amazing, to hear them again! I loved them so very much as a young teen!
Beautiful song by two very talented individuals.
Yes I'm listening now in 2024 I'm an old thing that can still relate...
I'm crying, the tone and harmony are perfect. Love the old songs.
That's my favorite from them!
Timeless song.
Still great ❤
I love 😍 their music 🎶 ❤😊
One of my son's first favorite songs!!! ❤ He was 2 or 3 years old and would be singing along with it every time he heard it.

R.i.p Chad
I love this song. Still in 2022.
60 yrs ago...song of my younger days
That was a favorite back in my late teens. Still lovely to hear that. Never cared for the hard rock; C&J were my type of music❤❤
Bravo🎺🎸🥁🎶

They sound good because they are GOOD!
It's a recording lip sync
yeah, those of us who wore out our 45s of this song know a lip synch when we hear it🤪

Perfection

Soft kisses on a summer day
What show was this, when and who was the introducer ..
That was Lisa Hartman, an actress who also had a brief singing career, co-hosting an episode of Solid Gold called "Salute to the 60s."
Haha miming to a 20 year old recording!
Pity they couldn't do it live. Great song though

Should have let them play it live instead of lip-synching.
Lip sync alert. Were their guitars even plugged in?
Acoustic..
Yep, I'm 100% sure that was the original studio recording. 😃
Sounds like they are singing to the backing track to the original record, or possibly lip syncing.
yes, the backing track is definitely from the record.....vocals, i'm not sure....if it is live singing, it sounds remarkably like the record.
@@essessessesq You can tell it's lip-synched at around the 1:16 mark - Chad doesn't hold the high note but the record playing in the background does.
They are singing live to the studio recording, vocals and all. It beats lugging that orchestra around.
Never mind them, who was the babe?
That's actress Lisa Hartman, who also had a brief music career.
Lip syncing
Lip synch garbage. They didn’t have to do this; they sounded great-and continued to sound great until Chad’s death.

Yeah. What is the point of lip syncing? Was cheezy back then and is now.
Maybe they still sound as great as they did in 1964 because they're playing a recording? Nobody, but nobody is that good to record it perfectly like the record. Obviously a fake performance done to the recording.
Everything was lip sync in those days. Still a very nice song and nice looking guys to watch.
And a terrible lip sync at that.
This is a song and performance with enduring appeal. Cannot think the same of any pop music in the last 10 years.
