I played Baritone with Edge Hill Brass Band, Liverpool at the same time. My good friend Dave Hind was playing 1st Baritone with Mirlees on this video😊 Dave is retired now and nearly 80. I’m playing Euphonium with the Wirral Symphonic Wind Band , Birkenhead. Still going strong at 71 😮😊😂
I CAN REMEMBER - Ken Davies - Sop, - Big Dave Atherton - Solo Cornet, - Ted Harrison - Flugel, - Billy Platt - Cornet , - Brian Boden - 1st Horn, - Arthur Breeze - Trombone, - Roy Eaves - Eb Bass, - Frank Clements - Bb Bass, - Harry Mather - Solo Euphonium . " What a Great Bunch of Players " - { They were all ex Cammell Laird Band - James Scott. }.
Great stuff! Clearly articulated and look at some of the 'hardwear' G trom, Old 3v BBb Basses, Yam 201 horns, Imperial Sop, hand tuned timps, real old style looking baris, but they did the job!!
1975: Yamaha were the shiny new kids on the block ; the last hurrah of the G trombone (which had long disappeared from the symphony orchestra by then); "Imperial" instruments were about to be usurped by Denis Wick's inspired "Sovereign" range ....

Great viewing and thanks very much for uploading . There weren't many faces I knew but I did spot the late Derek Roebuck on G trombone .
Love the old factory bands of yesteryear. Bags of spirit!

Wow some old school brass, cool. Nice sharp cutting troms.
Yes Including My great friend and bandsman Arthur Breeze.
It was good seeing some old faces I recognise & what about those haircuts!
Do you have any other recordings from the series?
Mmmm..it looks like Garry Cutt third man down with Geoff Harrop on 2nd euph and Martin French on Solo trom.
Almost missed Geoff Poyser on Solo Horn😮
