After taking a lot of time thinking about this and trying to figure out the key. I think this song is possibly using one of two methods or both. I think the song is actually in D major. First method, I think the song is a 1-5-4-6 progressions but they are using borrowed chords for the 5th and the 6th from the minor scale. The other train of thought is the topline is Db,C, B, Bb and using the last three chords in inversions help make up the chromatic melodic line. I hope this may help some people analyze the approach or help with creativity in song writing.

I think it's a way to put more pressure on the right hand. I aim to become a composer, so would it be better to change the way I play in the long run?
