I’ve found caps split around the threads. I believe that it was because some super tech tightened the shit out of it trying to stop a leak rather than replacing the s schrader valve.
Somehow I missed this vid and hadn't watched it yet . Did you manage to get the rest of the moisture out then ? By the way , I've got the same Testo vaccum gauge , and I use the same bit of small hose with it , but what's that fitting you have at the end of it ? And do you find it stays tight and leak free , cause the small bit of hose doesn't seem very trust worthy to me , at least the connections , and I can't get my hands on Nylog which drives me bananas ... Yeah, I went back and changed the oil in the compressor which helped lower the moisture levels. I've not had any problems with the short hose other than changing the gaskets, the fitting is a 90' elbow which is handy when there is not room for a straight connector. Yeah its gone really busy plus having issues with editing software making the computer crash, hence the lack of recent vids!

Nice job, you have to be carfour about double faze, i use to have R R T, insted of R S T.....did you fix the gas leak on the expansion valve?
Yeah I fitted a braze in R449A valve so it won't leak again!
