I decorate 4 trees, one in my formal living room, one in the family room, one in the formal dining room, and one in my kitchen. The one in the living room is always my traditional tree. Some of the ornaments on the tree are 50 years old, the same number of years we have been married. My dining room tree is all finials. The family room tree is snowmen and snow flakes. The kitchen tree is my country themed tree with more natural ornaments and the only one with colored lights. I love all of my trees and putting them up is always a joy.

We choose our theme for the next year before take down our tree. Then I make a reminder on my Google calendar of the color ideas and any items I may want to buy (I set the reminder for November 1, earlier than I start decorating). Doing this step during the clean up process while it's all out in front of me is super helpful and then I I don't think about it again until I see the reminder the next year. I also make notes of things I DON'T need to buy like ornament hooks or Christmas cards because I bought some on sale after Christmas.
This year's theme is Merry & Bright -- think oversized colored string of lights: red, green, gold, blue! My daughter wanted very colorful this time.

I live very fare to you i Europę in Poland. We dont have so rich christmas decoration like USA but everything kind. I like to change color on tree. This year Purple, magenta, red and rose. I put baloon on christmas ball to change color. This is more ekonomic, spacefriendly and little eco.😁

I like that Tyler was being himself and snacking while helping with the kidos and decorating the tree. It's authentic. Three cheers for you Tyler for having so much fun in this vid. TFS Sharrah, the vintage Santa vibe is adorable.

We don't have a theme for our tree but our ornaments all have meaning. Everytime we travel to a new place we get an ornament. We also have ornaments that represent highlights of the year.

Tyler is so cute and so much fun. I love seeing the four of you interact as a family. Your love for each other shows. Your decorations are just everything - so perfect for a family with children and those of us who are still kids at heart. Thank you for sharing your talent. I hope you continue to post videos after you move to Nashville. Merry Christmas!

That’s one of my favorite trees I’ve ever seen. I have three 7 1/2 foot trees and one 4 foot tree. I don’t really change my decor every year. I will add a new ornament or two. I have my main tree that is a white tree And I use aqua, lime green, and purple ornaments on. I do have picks in those colors along with some that look like clear glass, round in shape, I’m not explaining this very well, but they look like Crystal. And then the garland that I decided to add two years ago is similar to that, so it’s really bling looking. I absolutely love it. I got the tree after my divorce I just couldn’t barely use the same ornaments I had used for 37 years. And then about six or seven years ago I decided to get a pencil tree and put it in my entryway. It is just a green tree. With the help of my grandson, we decided to call it my memory tree, and all of those Ornaments from 37 years of collecting go on there. They’re like the hallmark ornaments. There’s no balls on it.😉 I did bye about four different styles of picks. I started out with some whimsical, looking ones like peppermint candies and green, red and white balls on it, then some very pretty ones that look like a little short branches, green leaves and it’s got like Holly berries on it and little gold, spirals and glitter, I love bling, and then just some picks with Little red and green berries on it. This little tree is so full. About three years ago I decided to try my luck at adding the ribbon on it so it has that as well. I also got red garland that has different size balls on it like 1 inch and smaller ones that I put around it as well. Then there’s my little 4 foot tree that I had in the corner in my dining room and on that one I just have a little tiny bulbs and I have some decorations that my grandsons made. I put on there and like their handprints and that’s the one I put the candy canes on, and then I have those are they called Annelise, Santa and Mrs. Claus that are like 3 foot tall. They used to be my moms and she wants my daughter to have them and I decided I wasn’t ready to give them to my daughter yet, so I have them standing on either side of the tree. Then add this year changes. I found this pencil flock tree that I just fell in love with so this one I have in my dining room corner instead of the 4 foot one. And I decided to get all glass bulbs in multicolors. There’s dark green, red, gold, silver, deep, blue, deep turquoise, Pink, lavender, and purple. I am crazy about it. Then the picks got are all silver, one set are berries that are covered in glitter, and the other set are silver but they’re kind of a satin finish. Then I got the same beautiful blingy, crystal looking garland, that I have on my main tree to go around it as well. The little 4 foot tree is now in my entryway too. The toppers the main tree, we, as in my sister, help me, made it out of ribbon in the three colors, purple, aqua, lime, green. With picks in those colors coming out here and there of it. I had gotten the idea off of Pinterest. Then my memory tree, I got 3 different ribbons in red, green, white different designs on all three ribbons, and just did the bows on top of it. my little 4 foot tree just has a silver star on it and the new flock tree I bought a bling out cross between a star and a snowflake. So you see I’m kind of a mishmash here and there but that’s OK. I love it and my grandkids just go crazy when they come to Grans, Christmas house. 😊🎄

What a fun tree! I always do a theme, whether in colors or an actual theme. I did a black and white floral tree (I am a florist) and a woodland tree. I always change it up every year. Never doing the same thing twice and decorating different areas. I mostly use the same items every year. And then supplement with new ribbon or diy ornaments.

I do the same theme every year because I love nostalgic memories of all my ornaments. My aunts bought each niece and nephew a little tree when we were born and every year we got an ornament based on what we liked, so we’d have about 22 ornaments when we left college and were on our own. Now, I get an ornament every I also decorate on every trip I take. I decorate every year with vintage red and green forest theme. I grew up in the forest of northern Wisconsin, and now I live in CA. I love going back to my roots for Christmas. I DO NOT decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving though because I also decorate for fall. ❤

I love how nostalgic and fun your Christmas decorating is this year. Reminds me of how it's not about aesthetics, it's about the joy of the season. My theme is going to be smaller Christmas which is small decorated christmas trees throughout my main spaces instead of just a large, main attraction Christmas tree.

I’ve been Christmas obsessed for decades and may get forced out of my house if I buy anymore decorations! 😉🤷🏻‍♀️😉 I use parts of my collection and have plenty of opportunity to mix things up year to year. I have pared back in recent years but I still have a tree of some sort in every room for a touch of Christmas spirit everywhere. I do color coordinate my Christmas decorations to the room’s decor but can vary things so it feels fresh. Each year is a bit different but unless there is a major color change in a room, the ornament color scheme stays basically the same to work with the decor. It helps a lot when you use gold, silver and crystal as the base ornaments and accent with bits of color here and there.
Can I just say, Tyler is hilarious and makes a wonderful Papa Elf. You and your boys are so fortunate to have plenty of giggling opportunities! Brilliant! 😂🤣😂

Upstairs i'm doing green, crystal, white, & plaid this year. It's already up & gorgeous! Downstairs i did the nativity story starting with the angel telling Mary about being pregnant all the way through to them fleeing to Egypt. Such a fun theme! My tree is all angels & the names of God. Hubby built a life size manger & I added a doll, flowing white Gauze like material that flows from a prelit star down to baby Jesus.

First of all i love your channel and love you and now your family. I was watching you and your mom separately for a while not realizing you were related. It was you first then I bet Rebecca showed up on my Recommended videos because of you! I hope you will still be doing some short of TH-cam videos or at least catch ups. I’m not on IG a lot! So I have changed my color scheme every year but not a theme really. I have decided from this year on though I’m really into the calming neutrals. I’m turning 50 in Jan btw. So lots of years and color schemes! So I’m going to keep on hand very large ornaments, the largest I can find for the cheapest price, not $35 ones and diying them if I want a change them and I have. I’m pretty much keeping my metallics and neutrals! White, all browns (from cream and all the way to chocolates), and black. Then all the metallics, some silver (mostly mercury glass), champagne, antique, and bronzy golds, some coppers, and Amber glass. Also I have a new found love for clear glass ornaments like hand blown ones and beautifully designed finials (all different shapes really). The icicles, and little jewels. So I have the whites for the wintery themes, then I can mix whatever neutrals and metallics I need and add color by the ribbon, wired and not wired velvets and satins. So I have whatever color i choose from the ribbon and a can of spray paint or simply diy the old ornaments i have. Most of that is for only 2 7.5 ft trees….lol. A green one and a flocked one! For a 3rd tree, my sparse one. I’m using the more delicate ornaments and the led candles and thin velvet ribbons. With the icicles and jewels, and will start purchasing the clear glass ornaments next year, maybe a dozen a year (cuz this year I’ve spent 5 years of my budget for all home decor) and have to stop cuz i don’t have that kind of money to spend what i have the past few years. Then I have a 6 ft mannequin tree I made and have it filled with brown and burgundy florals and berries, cream and brown pampas, and very large magnolias! I’m planning on keeping her up all year and changing the florals for each season ( and besides some white and cream pampas I should have all the florals i need because I’ve been over spending on these for years too!) and finding or making her a top for each season! This is where I’ve spent half my budget… LOL!!! I was planning on naming her Tammy! My Dtr and I have thought maybe it should be Theresa. Like Tree- sa. Lol, we thought it was funny but that’s my moms name… lol! Whew that’s it, that’s my book of Christmas stories!
PS! If you know any good therapist for decor and floral hoarding please let me know before my kids kick me out of my own home!
    Seriously please HELP!!!

I picked a vintage/santa theme but using dark Green and wine red vs regular red. It’s so classy. I love it. And I usually try to do something different each year but I use what I have first and then challenge myself to add a different spin
Last year it was vintage brass, emerald green/dark green and black. This year I used the vintage brass and green and added the wine red. I would love to do a tree where I just do all the themes all together.

Great looking trees. Love your hubby and beautiful boys helping you. I guess my decorating hasn’t changed in years. I have lots of Christopher Radko character and ball ornaments. I think I’m getting ready next year for a change. I will continue to do the traditional red gold green and silver. Enjoy your last Christmas in your house and good luck with the move.

I been doing Santa vintage for some years but this year we traveled to Europe and got inspired with Christmas in London. I used some of the red that I already have but add colors to it. I love anthropology villages and I tried to be inspired by it as well. Definitely keep it vintage and whimsical. ❤ You look awesome!

I’m looking for the shoe link! But I also don’t really change the theme each year. I just add new goodies each year. This was a very informative video, thank you!

Our Christmas theme is sweets think like baby blues, pinks, lollies, donuts, etc. We add a little bit every year because stuff is so hard to find.

Very cure video! I am doing metallics this year. Made quite a few changes to elevate the Christmas game a bit ;) but I am using some of the existing decorations.

Lovely video Sharrah, your boys are such a delight. Love your theme this year, so bright and cheerful. We are going for the Christmas traditional colours of red, green, and gold this year … and lots of reindeers.
