hey man how would you compare the stability of this yak vs say a OG Coosa or a Native Falcon? I about 6'1 260 but I am a very minimalistic fisherman. Mostly just bring 1 or 2 light action rods and chase after smallmouth and trout here in Arkansas. Think this boat is a good fit? I havent been able to try one out yet but I really want to
Looking at getting my first fishing kayak. On my $1000 budget Im trying to decide between the Flint and a Native Slayer pro 12. My local kayak dealer has two slayers left at discount price of $999. I can't demo kayks right now cause it's winter here in Wisconsin. Any recommendations?
Jason Molle I have a saying I my shop when it comes to online research. Mix 1 part online research with two parts on water time. Getting your butt on some boats will teach you more than the internet ever will. See if there are any shops that will let you demo. You’ll be so happy you did.
I agree with the demo part...but since there is like five feet of snow on ground, I doubt that is happening anytime soon. I can demo when spring comes, but dealer is done carrying the Native line so when those last two discounted slayers sell that's it..
Jason Molle I think for $1000 I’d look at a Vibe Seaghost, 3 Waters Big Fish, Flint, or Feelfree Moken 12.5. Slayer is nice for rivers but the tracking is a little weak. For that price it’s a good deal. I like that the flint will also take the pedal drive this summer.
That PFD is sweet. Hey what did you think of that Bonafide? I am having a heck of a time deciding on a Kayak. It will be my first one. Every time I think I have made my mind up I see another one that seems perfect. Today I found one called Kaku Wahoo that looks to be made well, priced well and designed well. I've gone from a Jackson Liska to a Feel Free Lure to a Vibe Sea Ghost to a Bonafide and today that Kaku Wahoo. I am curious what you think of the Bonafide as it's more expensive than the others I mentioned.
Greenpea our of the boats you listed the Bonafide tips the stack hands down. Cost a little more than a few of the others but build quality and features are another level.
Thank you for the help and by the way wish you were in Ohio because I would buy from you in a minute. I see your store mentioned in allot of videos and you are doing a good service for the folks in your area. One of the good guys.
If you're in eastern Ohio you might be in luck. After doing my research I found a company that has been involved in kayak fishing for awhile it seems and have had an online fishing store. Well they are literally opening their first store front march 1st in New Brighton, Pa. Company is called fishingonline.com and they are a stocking dealer for Bonafide. I to have been debating on which kayak to buy and obviously the bonafide has been all the rage so I was really excited to find out this new store will exist 10 minutes from my house. I have not spoke with them yet about demos but their store is really close to the river so I'd be surprised if they wouldn't allow a serious buyer the chance to try it. We shall see though
So do you think it would be worth buying a Flint over the Bonafide and use the extra cash for accessories? This is for someone who has owned several Kayaks but is still in the novice kayaking stage (me). My Tarpon 100 was tippy but I loved it. My Nucanoe Frontier 12 was a huge heavy barge!
Man two seperate yaks all together. I love the small portability, but the Bonafide is a massive stable platform. If i was car topping I would go flint. Go check out the recent photo on my instagram @headwaterskayak to see the flint in Action.
I'm not car topping (last one flew off with rack) but I want to hit small and possibly fast bodies of water for giant fish (Flatheads, Sturgeon) and small fish (Bass, etc). It's a really hard decision on which way I want to go. Thanks for the quick reply! Your Instagram looks great!
Hey Dan , any word on when you’ll be able to do a review on the new Feelfree Dorado? I’m Buying a new fishing pedal drive kayak and have pretty much narrowed it down to the predator PDL or the new Dorado! Thanks
JRL Outdoors can’t speak for anyone else, but I can very nicely. It depends on your size and how stable you are. It’s a smaller yak, but still designed to stand in
JRL Outdoors , I’m 5”6 155lbs and just purchased a nucanoe flint about 2 weeks ago. I can stand literally anywhere I want in the boat, even on the bow or far back on the stern and still feel stable enough for me. It’s a nice paddling and maneuvering boat, I also bought the sea ghost 130 at the same time, I liked both. The sea ghost is a faster boat, a tad bit more stable I suppose, just alil more effort to turn. All in all I enjoy the flint more for an all day paddle, but the sea ghost seat is alil more comfortable so I may end up putting a seat off a vibe onto the flint with a custom bracket
A lot of familiar faces. Great job everyone and Dan supporting the sport.
well done Dan! And Thank you for all the support you give to the community!
7:56 - Greg Blanchard is awesome 👏🏼
How’s the flint compare to the RS117 and Jackson bite?

Great video. Did you ever try out their junior/buddy seat? I'd like to be able to take my daughter along.
No I have not.

Lester Garabito The last I heard is the end of March.
On mine, I feel like I'd fall off before the kayak flips...
I really want that 127!
Anybody know if you can attach the Junior seat to the front of the Flint?
Jeffery Dowdy yes you can.
Headwaters Kayak thank you!
Could I stand and bass fish in this kayak?

Headwaters Kayak well I’m quite a bit smaller than you so I think that’ll be alright
