The verb phrase "get by" has more than one meaning. To "get by" can mean to have enough money, or it can mean that a person is trying to pass another person. This is a very common verb phrase, or you can also refer to it as an idiom.
Hello Paul! Thank you so much for the lesson! Whenever I watch your video, I get something new. Also, I realize the extent of my ignorance of English each time. But I don't give up and try to go ahead. My example: The street was narrow. A man walking ahead of me didn't let me get by. He gets some interest payments from his bonds. It's enough to get by.
1. Get by = pass കടന്നു പോവുക ( ആൾ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ, ഒരാൾ മറ്റൊരാളോട് ഞാൻ മുൻപോട്ട് കടന്നു പൊയ്ക്കോട്ടേ എന്ന അർത്ഥത്തിൽ, May I get by ? 2. Get by = കഴിഞ്ഞ് കൂടുക, ജീവിച്ചു പോകുക Ex. 1.How is your business ? Just getting by. Ex. 2. He is getting by his small income from the farm. He can hardly get by, by that income.

2. Get by = കഴിഞ്ഞ് കൂടുക, ജീവിച്ചു പോകുക
Ex. 1.How is your business ?
Just getting by.
Ex. 2. He is getting by his small income from the farm. He can hardly get by, by that income.
Many people in Ukraine are barely getting by.
It's not easy to understand. But using a dictionary everything is much better. You should improve your kind of examples.
Thanks
