  • This may be the last video of the year. My wife and I came down with COVID, and I haven't been to the farm in over a week! I hope to have even better content for you guys this next year. A lot of exciting things to come! We'll be getting more H2A guys, which means I won't be stuck in a squeeze or semi so much, and will get some great shots for you.
    Blessings to everyone in 2022! It's going to be a good one. God bless!

    Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
    First of all. Sending Best Wishes to all of you for a nice Xmas and have a great holiday season.
    Thanks for the rundown on the baler and steamer and the outfit that picks up the bales. Brian seems to be a no nonsense kind of person. Go get em Brian.
    Interesting to see how the steamer and baler work together. Can see where you need the right kind of tractor to do the job. Nice units. You can cover a lot of ground with that setup.
    Your gas storage tank turned out well. Looks good after all the troubles getting it done. Good job Treavor.
    About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything.

    Back in the 70s I was a new holland service manager in the northwest when NH came out with the 1069 Stack Cruiser. It was one of the first with a table that tied the bales and that system was triggered by a magnet passing by a trip. In the area where we were was volcanic soil which is- magnetic. After a few loads the tying system would quit working because the magnets would get loaded up with magnetic soil. It gave us nightmares.

    Have you ever thought about a suction a device on the front of the baler to suck in loose leaves? With steam you could use ventures to suck the loose leaves into the baler. Or maybe use a orbit motor to drive a fan to suck in the leaves. Just a thought.

    • @BalesHayFarmandRanch
      @BalesHayFarmandRanch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, because you would then be picking up more than just leaves. Dirt. Rocks. Old dead alfalfa sticks. Bugs. But mostly dirt. I think it would be cool, especially if there was a way to filter it. But man that also sounds expensive

    • @BalesHayFarmandRanch
      @BalesHayFarmandRanch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s different every night. We monitor the moisture as the bale is coming off the baler. You could add too much moisture to already wet hay. It takes a good driver watching the moisture monitor and bale weights

      @@BalesHayFarmandRanch1st) Absolutely all manufactures without exception have to control their bottom line period.
      So a lot of this new "innovations" are about their billfolds not ours. I know you aren't able to comment on this so I'll do it for those of you who can't. 2nd) It isn't the owner's place to modify existing OEM equipment on these new machines after all the monies that are spent buying and maintaining them, only to void a warranty. Now rest assured, there is an update or a manufactures upgrade for a "few" dollars more and sometimes has to be brought back in to their approved shop or by their approved mechanic, for these said "upgrades" which only increase our cost. 3rd) A lot of times their innovations are so bad that we have to upgrade, just like the air filter and breather system under the platform and behind tire which is the worst possible place ever in the history of a clean air recovery system. The engineer who come up with that setup is definitely got a bonus for that year. Okay I'm done now I have to go and scatter lime and fertilizer.
