My mom and dad’s house used to have a Japanese style garden. It was so Zen. As the years went by, and the gardeners began to retire, it became harder to find replacements who had studied in the art and design of Japanese gardening. Thank you for this video.

I absolutely love Japanese gardens but there is one thing I wish was included that rarely is; accessibility for people with disabilities.
The Portland Oregon Japanese Garden has accessible pathways in 90% of the garden. Recommend visiting .

I noticed roots of big trees are covered in a rug with ropes around when planting in the ground. That rug is a garden rug or can be any rug. Why the rug was not removed when planting ? I wondered if the tree lives healthy in this way. A part from water that you used to wet the roots, do you put any chemicals or other staff so that the roots live and develop. I have a maple tree to transfer from pot to the ground. I dont want the roots to spread, can I do your way? I am worried the maple die so please help what to do. Many thanks from Australia.

Why do you bury the roots with the hessian still in place?
I guess those stepping stones are the most expensive right? The stonewashed pavement is super cool. It's very beautiful, I wished that garden is mine.

Question: The brown paper you put before the gravel is a kind of a asphalt felt? the paper prevent grass and plants from grow there?
In the US it is normally black and made of Polypropylene (plastic). The landscape fabric is often used under stones or around perennial plants to prevent the growth of weeds.
Hello, your right, it does help to prevent and also help to make it easy to remove unwanted plants. As an avid gardener, I use this material in gardens I install, as well as my own. It is commonly known as “weed guard”. A synthetic material that allows water to pass through, and prevents seeded weeds to root into the soil. Weeds can root into the material, but are easily removed, without disturbing the protected soil beneath. Hope this helps... 🙏
