Hi dan..I also would recommend a product that car carriers use that repels water/dirt etc..it’s called Rail Glide...graphite lubricant..I use it on my car carrier and i believe it would last longer on your squeaky hood than the grease
Might want to think about spray painting under you fenders under the hood, to help protect the gel coat of the fiberglass, or use that rubberized roofing they roll on RV roofs. Just a thought.
Don't use grease or spray lube, use bee's wax or drawer slide. Does not dissipate easy and does not attract dirt. Fifth wheel too, mush a couple of drawer slide or EZ, cleaning fifth wheel first. I was a O/O for 35 years. Fifth wheel, put a couple of paper wrapped sticks on fifth and crush them, air ride works great for that, lol
Good job Dan glad to see you back on the road good first day back trucks doing good got rid of the squeaky noise I know that makes you really happy that drives you crazy as you're going down the road be safe out there bud
That's as good as those roadwork machines are ever going to look. Those things do awesome work but they get so dirty with use. Welcome back Dan I'm glad you're back!
Nice to see you back Dan. Beautiful sunrise its one ofvthe things i miss being out there. I always stopped at the Pilot/J in Amarillo so i could watch and listen to the planes taking off😁😁. Have a safe trip
Dan... Good to see that you enjoyed some time with your family....you deserve that....about that leaking fitting....first make sure you wire brush the threads on the fitting and there's nothing in the threads of the female side. Then Teflon tape the fitting. Don't be shy with the tape...it won't hurt to use some extra tape. Next use a good pipe sealant paste on top of the Teflon tape. Be sure to align the fitting to where you want it on the first try. Never back it off to align it. If this doesn't work there might be something wrong with the fitting. Good luck with that and safe travels my friend....Kevin
Yes exactly! You do not no what he was doing. So why the very stupid remarks. For whatever reason he was maneuvering something us Truck drivers have to do every day.
Some else mentioned that coolant fitting might not be tapered pipe but "o" ring seal type. (Thread pitch are same. Clue is female thread doesn't go all the way to edge.) I had a similar problem with hydraulic hose on my farm implement.
See the Road Runner sitting on top of the tar machine closest to the front right before you switched back to your face! You can see him starting at 3:07
Dan that fitting in the cooling system I know you put thread tape on it , just wondering if it has an Oring seal on that flat surface or it may have a hair line crack in the housing that only shows up when the fitting is in place and tight only a thought Dan also some pipe sealant as well as the thread tape could help
Permatex black or white over the Teflon wrap the Teflon the same way as you tightening it. If it's a sensor use sensor safe permatex other wise you won't get a good ground
Didn't get a good look at that fitting but it looks like one that uses a O ring to seal, if it is no amount of teflon tape or paste will get it sealed.
My dad was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB and worked at a missile silo SE of the city near a Gardner Canyon. We also used to camp out there a bunch. I was curious if you are familiar with the location?
Hi, really like your videos, even from here far north, Sweden! :-) Interesting to see that your allowed driving hours are fairly similar to those of EU - not exactly same, but similar. Is there any max allowed speed on trucks in the US, here it's 80km/h (abt 50 mph) ? Ph, btw, what was the. He k point you passed in the vid - are there interstate check points ? Cheers, Tommy
Always nice seeing you Dan... Glad the truck is back up and doing good. Do you think per mile, that you had this much trouble with the other Peterbilt that is stored at your house now?
Averaged 67 MPH that's Awesome since a lot of trucks are governed at 63! What have you been averaging for Mileage lately haven't heard that in a while? Did it go up after you cleaned out exhaust filter?
Dan and I wanted to share a Plumbing trick with you. I had a water heater one time at would not quit leaking at the t&p. A Teflon the tape out of it still leaked. Someone suggested Teflon tape and pipe dope. Walla problem solved. Welcome back be safe.
Dan sometimes there can be just a small imperfection in the threads of the fitting or in the female side that Teflon just doesn't seem to get it. I think that'll solve your leak.
Hey Dan, where was it you said you ordered your eyeglasses from and do you know what styles they are? Me and you have about the same head lol and I need new glasses.
I ordered my glasses from zenni optical. I recommend using some glasses that you have now that fit good and measure those glasses. Use those measurements to search the sit for new ones Thanks for watching
Nicely tied down load there my friend but to this old Brit ex trucker those trailer wheels look really odd. i mean the cutover on the trailer must be evil in towns and I suspect not a lot of weight gets on that back axle. We generally use air suspended three axle single tyre trailers @ 44 te and they are set well in from the rear of the trailer as is the kingpin @ 1.6 Metres from the front. See the attached photo. UK trailer lengths are 13.6 Metre (45 Ft) standard but we have been trialling 14.6 Metre (48.5 Ft) and 15.6 Metre (52 Ft) trailers with a slightly different axle layout to ensure minimum cutover and outswing. www.lawrencedavid.co.uk/trailers/platform/ Like the USA we run 3 axle tractors (Semis) but 90% are single drive axle with a second lifting steer axle at the rear and always air suspension. Hope this is of interest ...
DAN, LOVE RIDING ALONG WITH YOU ON YOUR TRIPS. YOU MAKE MY DAY 👍 FOR SURE. KEEP US UP TO DATE AS TO WHAT YOUR DOING, AND GET THOSE NEW BELTS ON BEFORE YOU BREWK ONE RUNNING DOWN INTERSTATE., TAKE CARE BE SAFE AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY, WINNY FROM PGH., ✝️😇👏🙏👍
Every time going through the border checkpoint, when asked if I’m a citizen, I feel like saying “Si.” 😂 White guy doing that may mean my truck ripped apart. The border patrol guys mean well, but there will ALWAYS be that dick. I’ll never try it.

Dan i love the sun rise. Keep the Peterbuilt happy
See the Road Runner sitting on top of the tar machine closest to the front right before you switched back to your face! You can see him starting at 3:07
that little machine looks a rotar for digging out the cracks in the road before the tar goes in. Thx Dan stay safe and hello fron South Dakota
Welcome back Dan, always great to see the train in your videos.
Beautiful sunrise!
Nice video Dan 👍🏻
That sunrise is beautiful until you have the sun in your face the next few hours 😎🌞☀️
I do miss the Arizona sun raise they're beautiful same with the sunsets. Glad you had a good vacation.
Thanks for another great video. Ever think about replacing the hood latches? It worked for me with the squeaking. Take care and safe travels.
Dan that fitting in the cooling system I know you put thread tape on it , just wondering if it has an Oring seal on that flat surface or it may have a hair line crack in the housing that only shows up when the fitting is in place and tight only a thought Dan also some pipe sealant as well as the thread tape could help
Dan. Back to trucking.
Ever spend a day in Bisbee AZ. Passed it once and wanted to be a tourist there. Looked so beautiful
Thanks for showing the Double Stack Train at the beginning of the video. All Aboard! Beep, Beep! 👍
I’m glad you’re having good luck
Great video Dan, thank you. 👍👍🐕🇨🇦❤️
Permatex black or white over the Teflon wrap the Teflon the same way as you tightening it. If it's a sensor use sensor safe permatex other wise you won't get a good ground
Dan, don't say much on here but really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing..
Silicone Spray works also very good on squeaky things
Vac n time at home is always great. Be safe.
love that sunrise ,
You might try thread sealant on the leaking fitting in lieu of the Teflon tape.
Aw nice and quiet
Good video!
One on front is a craftco machines seals the joints when paving
The front machine is a patcher for fixing pot holes.
Safe travels dan
Didn't get a good look at that fitting but it looks like one that uses a O ring to seal, if it is no amount of teflon tape or paste will get it sealed.

Try using aeroshell 14, it’s for helicopters but it works so well!
I'll look it up
Thanks for watching
What a way to open a video 🚂🚂🚂🚂. Is that a new Gator behind you?

Could pipe dope fix it? I have heard that works if teflon tape doesn't.
Yep, I always hate the first day back, especially the ones where u gotta get somewhere....
670 miles in 10. 35 hrs is excellent.... but its all flat which is a plus. Easy to gain miles.
Nice Hair Cut
