"steve is pac man on crack" that made laugh like a crazy man
I hate the fact that most of the hype surrounding Steve when he dropped, the only smash reveal trailer that crashed Twitter as far as I know, is now completely irrelevant. What was once possibly the most hype trailer in Smash history, is now the most hated character in Ultimate, and he'll most likely stay like that even if they somehow nerf him.
Nah, it will turn around in the future. Everyone someday will be rooting for the steve player who is trying to defeat the broken dlc character

As a G&W main who mained him since Melee all the way through. When he finally gets dealt with a good hand and finally makes it to the top tiers, he was given both the blessing and curse of being a good character, but being hated because of his annoying toolkit.
Whenever I fight someone, I could feel their frustration radiating off of them. I still love playing my boi G&W, but Rip his reputation. It went from "cool you play G&W?" From Brawl to Sm4sh and now its "Ew you play G&W" in Ultimate.
But eh I'll play my flat boi whether hated, bottom, middle, or top tier
100% with you there, mate. It doesn't matter how "good" he is, he's always fun to play, and that's why I play him. ^_^
I wish they did his moveset similar to how the ultimate mod hewdraw remix does it, they nerf his recovery slightly and make his moveset balanced overall and not as crazy as project m.
More fun to play as and against this way imo.
For sonic, i feel like integrating some things from frontiers would do the trick, and have the boost or something replace the spindash

Know what I find funny? I rather fight kazuya, rather than Terry. Kazuya it's fun to fight imo. It's scary.
Terry though.. Terry is just annoying to me, I recently just learned that his spot dodge has an ATTACK into it xD all this time I thought he smacked me out of it so fast lol.
I understand that thought, but I don't see the fun in fighting a character that if you get hit once it's almost a guaranteed 0 to death. Even terry doesn't have that.

@@ayar2 terry spamming down b is predictable and punishable. It also has a lot of end lag. Kazuyas who use ewgf combos and kill you for no reason is not even close to a comparison.
The fact that characters like Snake, Rob, and Pac-Man aren’t on this list shows how cooked Smash Ultimate really is
imo kazuya is more of a dlc luigi with his bad neutral and insane 0 to death

Honestly, Sonic embodies his tactics. Three words: *Taunt n Roll*
Creating frustrating and unlikeable character playstyles and placing them on top of sometimes beloved characters is in my opinion two very silly things to do.
Players who play as frustrating characters and know that they do this, and continue to feel empowered by frustrating the opponent are examples of the kinds of players I don't want to play and can't take seriously. I've been around a long time, played a lot of fighting games, and even done a lot of tournaments and hosted some. I wholey think the fighting game development community has taken our community several steps backwards by including playstyles on any fighter that appeal to these specific type of players.
Doing anything you can do to win is sometimes amazing to see but it has a dark side that when developers don't see it can simply ruin their game.
IMO Developers have a lot of responcibility they don't know they have.
I would have ranked sonic above Steve in the sense that Steve thrives on making fights as slow as possible or just getting enough time to mine for resources and pickaxes. While sonic could change the matches pace depending on the player. Which is why sonix is harder to beat than acola. Unlike acola who often has to slow down the match by building blocks. Sonix will play incredibly slow to make you complacent but just when you know the vibes he decides to completely change the tempo and destroy you as fast as possible three stocking you at game 2. Unlike Steve there are multiple sonics that are pros that are much closer to each other. Such as wrath Ken, Sonix and more. Unlike Steve when there’s top 2 Steve’s with the other one named onin and the other pro Steve’s are not even close to them. Even then in pro ultimate only one Steve is at the very top and that is acola the other Steve’s are not nearly as consistent. Despite this I agree that Steve overall is still the biggest threat but I thought that I can see sonic as number one as well.
For me, both are good. :)
They give a giant spacedragon so sh*t hitboxes bevause they dont want him to be "too" big but give min min with her noodle arms with the best range
It’s like a certain someone who was so skilled of pvp in actual Minecraft that people who know this player must try to avoid direct battle just like smash steve
G&W came from being an ass character from Melee to top tier in SSBU
Steve can literally place blocks in the air to be able to double jump.
I wish they added Jin Kazama as a DLC
Just you wait if Shadow gets in smash. He'll be just as fast as Sonic AND hit harder probably.

Heres my top 5 hated.
1.Hero: my worst mu, i hate getting blown up at 0. And ppl from other contries means i cant read the menu.
2. Yoshi. He annoys me, allways jumping. And does alot of jumping. Annoying noises, plus crafted yoshi exists.
3. Banjo: boring to fight, supper spammy, waste of potental, and wonderwing is lame.
4. Incin: makes me fill stupid when i get hit. And does crazy damage. Command grabs r never fun.
5. Isabel. Shesvillager but everything i dont like. I dont like shihzus, the color yellow, teaming up w here online sucks and weather i win or lose to here i allways feel unsatified with the battle. I just cant stand that she exists tbh.
Although this hate never extends to the player you are free to do what you like. And i allways will play w anyone who is skilled becouse its good practice and i enjoy the game. Ill allways have a gg saved for ya no matter the match.
Kazuya rob, and minmin were close. But i kinda like the challenge. And i dont hate sonic hes just boring.

Watching Sonic and playing against Sonic is different but to be fair I haven't played against a cracked Sonic like Sonix or Ken. But its annoying fighting Steve and watching a Steve

Never met someone who hates corrin… they are a lot more fair than the other characters on this list
@@Mkdennu’d be surprised I’ve seen corrin hate on different vods. I don’t think she’s top 5 or even top 10 most hated but I’d argue she does have a small but vocal hate base
@@gdmewmewgod6653 Realistically Corrin is probably in the top 30 of hated characters. Although she’s definitely moving up since she’s gotten more popular as of recently. I used to like watching / fighting corrin bc they were the underdog, now they’re everywhere and I’ve gotten tired of their fighting style.
I personally think Sonic is worse than Steve. Steve players at least have a reason to run away, but Sonic players just run to spite you. But what really sends me over the edge is that sound when Sonic is charging. This is the character that will give you a friggin headache. Not to mention, it’s pretty a game of who can take the first stock. If you’re a stock down, you’re probably screwed. But if you’re a stock up, they’re forced to approach. Isn’t that fun to you?
I heavily disagree that Sonic can't be changed without him "not feeling like Sonic", it sounds like the same kind of argument people use for not changing Ganondorf even though in Smash Bros. he's just "evil punchy man" instead of even resembling how he fights in any of the Zelda games.
There's a fan-made version of Sonic in the indie game Rivals of Aether that is way more fun and feels more faithful to his character than the Smash Bros. version, and in the Brawl mod Project M he has quite a few things changed about him that make him more flashy and less annoying to deal with. Sonic can absolutely be changed to be both more fun and more representative of his series, Sakurai just doesn't care enough and maybe is too afraid of pissing off Sonic players to do it.
Bayonetta should have never been added to Super Smash Bros.
As a Kazuya player I could rave about his bad neutral and how the average player couldnt EWGF consistently to save their life, but I'm not even that good with Kazuya anyway, and have played against Riddles-level Kazuyas before to much frustration.

For a hated character I say mario.
They double down and still didn't change his moveset and his spike is nearly impossible to avoid plus the flodder. It's just annoying.
i think minmin doesnt get ENOUGH hate, and its only cus she omly has dabuz, but there is a reason why leo hates her and damn near every top player hates her. like dont get me wrong there is a lot of hate for this char, but it should be worse than sonic and arguably steve because, yk, they require some skill

5 Bayonetta. Insane range. Stupid combos. It just goes everywhere. Getting tired of her.
4 Kazuya. Strong moves. Armor and just super combo machine.
3 Snake. Spamming granades and planting mines. Overall cowardly and only a fool would call Snake otherwise.
2 King K Rool. Stupid armor, strong moves and projectiles, and insane bulk. Takes almost forever to kill this beast.
1 Hero. Love this character but has Stupid and busted moves. Strong smashes that can sometimes crits. Ans the spells known as powerhouse.
For me, its Pyra. Her moves are way too fast for how much knockback they do.

4:03 Wow, this is a really stupid statement. I know it's supposed to be a joke, but this is the same kind of mentality as when people made up stories that George Lucas was "trying to destroy Star Wars" by making the prequels.
I feel that Pyro/Mythra should be here somewhere, they are the biggest example of pay to win to me. Their super easy to play and incredibly boring to watch and play against.
pyro mythra mains dont know how to actually play the game, they just spam up special and tilt special
Honestly surprised ROB and Aegis didn’t make it on the list especially after you specified the “feels like a wasted character slot” point in your criteria for deciding on the most annoying characters to fight in smash.

Most hated smash characters according to me:
Byleth: actual waste of a DLC slot
Corrin: gross dragon feet
Robin: Crappy zoner with a weapon decay mechanic
Chrom: a worse Roy + boring Marth clone
Lucina: also a boring Marth clone, but she gets a pass because she’s better than Marth.
An intellectual, truly.
Smash ultimate dlc honestly killed the game, everyone just rocking the same few annoying characters, boring 🗿
