This is a really good and well made video. The pacing kept me interested the entire way. I see theres a lot of inspiration from GrainyDays (not a bad thing just an observation) and he is one of my favorites to watch. I hope to see more videos from you in the future :)

You don't need a tripod to shoot IR400 if you don't want to. If you're shooting outdoors under direct sun, there's enough light for handholdable shutter speeds. Just use scale focus / zone focus / hyperfocal focusing. For framing, you can get an external viewfinder for a lot of common focal lengths easily, or with some practice, it's not hard to just eyeball the composition. Re: metering, it's important to shoot test rolls for the specific setup you're going to use, since different meters will behave differently re: non-visible light. In some cases, sunny 16 will be more reliable. For low light or indoors, you can use flash, as camera strobes put out plenty of infrared, although you'll need to do a test roll to determine what settings to use.
That’s alot of great information. Thank you! The thought of using flash as camera strobes to put out infrared light hasn’t crossed my mind. Just might need to try it in the future. Agreed metering can be unpredictable especially with this film stock and the R72 combo. Test shots are needed if someone has a specific image in mind. At times a tripod wasn’t needed (not all the time), but for me it was easier to compose when you have the camera in place and don’t have an external viewfinder.

Super. Obserwuję Cię na IG od jakiegoś czasu, ale umknęło mi to, że kręcisz filmy na YT. Teraz muszę nadrobić. Podoba mi się ten format. Fajny styl nagrywania i edytowania. Od 2 lat robię zdjęcia głównie analogowo. W tym czasie obejrzałem dużo filmów na YT i muszę Ci powiedzieć, że Twoje filmy umieściłbym wysoko w rankingu. Wcześniej robiłem na 35mm, ale jakiś czas temu kupiłem Yashice Mat 124G i się zakochałem. Ostatnio zacząłem brać Yashice na spacery po mieście i fotografować napotkanych ludzi. Jestem zadowolony, bo są to jedne z moich najlepszych zdjęć dotychczas. Też mieszkam w Poznaniu, ale dopiero od niedawna i nie znam społeczności. Myślę, że fajnie by było zrobić kiedyś jakiś wspólny photowalk z fotografami.

So how do you focus for infrared when your lens doesn't have the dot and you don't want to rely on depth of field? Is there a method, trick, or rule of thumb?
Infrared light focuses slightly closer than visible light. Once you have an image focused in the viewfinder than slightly (really minimal) focus closer. Best to look up online where the red dot is on lenses that have that, so you can have an idea. This isn’t 100% tho and I sadly don’t have a method. I am just going off of the red dot that is on my lens. I highly suggest shooting at F 11 or higher if you don’t have a red marker on the lens.
It’s easiest to shoot infrared if you don’t use a SLR. I use both rangefinders and scale focus and handheld all my pictures. I’ve taken over 1,000 pictures in the last few years and love it.

Both shots of the statues are amazing ! Great video been thinking of giving IR film a shot myself looks like an interesting challenge.

You could try shooting that with a red 25 filter for a more subtle IR effect.
