This is a year old but I'd just like to point out how they added in sound effects to subtly show Dr. Choi was having flashbacks to his time he served as an army doctor. I thought it was a nice touch, showing how sometimes it's not just the visual hallucinations that came with flashbacks, but it can also be auditory. As someone who had 4 really bad third degree burns from an accident, that needed to be debrided like this? I can tell you right now that even with the proper drugs, morphine or fentanyl or dilaudid for pain..versed for sedation..succinylcholine for muscle relaxation.. it is SO much worse. They did all 4 of mine at once and I actually stirred from the pain and was close to waking. . The second time they didnt use enough medications in my IV. and my partner (now husband) said he could hear my blood curdling screams from the other end of the floor in the elevator.
Me too. No pain relief works on me, not even fentanyl. They decided the only way to treat me was to put me under general anaesthetic which is also a problem because I need roughly 5 times the amount of anaesthetic people of my weight normally need which in turn causes several heart attacks. First time I was put under for an operation I was 10 and they discovered the problem. Since then I've been operated on 5 times and finally they told me never again. They were seconds from calling time of death when they got me back. So no pain killers or anaesthetic while they cleaning and dressing my burns. Hurt a million times more than giving birth.
