Kobe dreamt as a kid of playing for the Lakers and did so for 20 years - a mirror image of Jeter’s childhood dreams of the Yankees and his 20 year career. And both embarked on new careers after retirement, opening new chapters in their lives. Remarkable men.
Jeter was my generations Babe, DiMaggio and Mantle. Just the coolest guy in pinstripes, you always envisioned how great you might be if you had even 1/4th the talent. Forever the GOAT for me.

Joe Cahill Band I’ve heard that from the broadcasters during the games. Lemahieu only pulled off speed pitching and the fastballs would be hit the other way. Now hearing this from Jeter, it’s crazy how similar lemahieu’s approach is similar to Jeter’s approach.
Lemahieu is also smart enough to know he can use the Stadium to his advantage. Seems like he was made for the Pinstripes and hopefully he sticks around for the rest of his career because he definitely does have the same approach as Jeter and is a hitting machine like Jeter was.
I agree cause i'm sure being an owner has its ups and downs (a lot more downs than ups with the Dolphins) but I also think that the criticism owners have to deal with especially on the media side have to bother them a little bit.

What he meant by that was that he's resigned to the fact that playing the game was his past and he's now writing his new chapter. It's a mindset one must adopt to actually be present. Most pro athletes live the rest of their lives in quiet desperation never truly accepting the fact that their dream is over nor content with a new life.
I mean, his playing days are over. He was a champion multiple times, was a huge celebrity nation-wide, he's been there and done that. I figure after 2 decades of putting your all into the game, he appreciates having a little distance.

Wow...I've never heard anyone say it like that. If you swing to pull a fastball, everything else will be a foul. That's such a simple thing, but I never had a coach put it like that. It's one thing when a coach tells you to push the ball, but another to actually explain it.
I hope young kids watch this video and take something very important away from it. Don’t over complicate hitting. All Jeets did was sit fastball and try to stay inside it! Too many kids think “launch angle”, sit off-speed when behind in the count, etc. if you sit fastball and stay inside the ball, you’ll be in good shape. React to off speed, but still think fastball. This guy is number 6 all time in hits and his approach to hitting was as simple as it gets. I wish I had taken this approach when I was young. Jeter is the man. Wish he wasn’t on my most despised team lol.

His whole approach is to stay inside the ball. My hitting coach who i work with 3 hours a day, focuses on the top inside half of the ball. I don't hit bombs but i get on base every single game and sometimes hit doubles and triples. Best mentality

The one at yankee stadium and his final infield base hit at Fenway when he was pulled from the game. I never thought I’d care much for a player like I did for Jeter. But honestly watching Tatis jr play has revived my excitement for baseball again. It’s a different excitement opposed to watching a player you look up to growing up like Jeter, but more like a proud excitement when I watch Tatis play. I just hope Tatis can have close to the career Jeter did.
