Can you decide if you want to use the trolley & walk along the street or if you you’d rather use a van to do your drop? Do you have a choice or does it depend solely on the route you’re on.
Nope, you do what they tell you. As a new starter you won't have your own round, you'll likely be working all around your area, sometimes sent to other parts of the city. Even known people to get sent to another town. You have a workload thats usually impossible to complete by design. You'll be pressured to stay out as long as it takes to finish it, even when dark - which is not fun. Vans are usually shared, so 2 of you work together- again not always fun. The odd round is easy but most are brutally hard. Most people in my office don't get breaks, urinate in bottles, don't get time to eat or drink. It's an awful job these days in most places. Bullying and harassment is fairly rife where I've worked but never had much issue with it myself.

the vans are all manual
Where is this? Nice area.
that's Barugh Green in Barnsley ... South Yorkshire
I want 2 get on my walk .No time 4 stopping 4 food or feeding horses
lol
How to apply this job
you could always try asking at the callers office at any royal mail depot ... it's where you go to pick up parcels
Did you get in trouble for filming at work?
Cowboys 🤠 🤠. Must get overtime everyday doing the job like that .
Used. To. Be. A good. Job but. Postmen. Are. Now. Like. Robots speed. Limits. On. Vans. Tracking. Snooping. Glad. To. Be. Out. Of. It
not just postmen. ... all humans are now like robots across all jobs.
Good job. I applied for a postman after be working in a Morrisons warehouse for 4 years. I want to ask you how the job is? I just read lost of bad reviews
i have been doing this job for 30 years .... it used to be a lot better ... but there are still worse jobs out there : )
I did the job for just over five months the manager was evil and the trading wasn't up to standard I was just put on walks which I had not been trained on
that sounds about right...
If it hadn't been for those two issues it would have been a good job
Its food to the address.. Woolworths.. Why.. distance
?
Don't know where they get the time
Once again ... were Professionals
@@snakeblanketillusion3539😂😂😂
I spoke to my old postman the other day management told a member of staff off for going two minutes early for their break how pathetic is that.
jobs fucked ... and it's getting worse
@@snakeblanketillusion3539 Did you guys get your pay negotiated ?
Enjoyed this mate. Would be great to come out with you with my camera and make a little film. In all your years, how many times have you ran into trouble with a front garden dog?
Thanks ... appreciate your kind words ... in 30 years i have had the pleasure of being attacked by uncaring ignorant dog owners about 20 times ... and that's being super careful ... but there"s nothing you can do to stop complete idiots from owning a dog : )
I'm considering this job
Is there any heaving lifting?
Do you have back pain?
Hi D ... sometimes the weight of the bag can get heavy .... or the odd heavy parcel ... but for the most part it's not usually too bad on the back, hope this helps
There a limit of 16 kilos on the weight of the bags.
How many stops do you get a day
i'm not sure what you mean by stops
if you mean Toilet stops ... usually 1 a day .... if your lucky
@@snakeblanketillusion3539 and how they expect you to visit the toilet once in a 8 hrs shift?
@@melindapocos Good question...
I was waiting at 17:15 for someone to come running around the corner chased by a sheepdog!! Genuine question, how common are the doggo attacks? or are most people sensible enough and keep em out of the front gardens? Thanks for the vid
lol ... well i have been a postie for 30 years and in all that time i have been bit by dogs about 10 times ... unfortunately not all people are sensible enough to stop their dogs from attacking you .... and then they blame you and say the dog didn't bite you hard enough ... lol
@@snakeblanketillusion3539 nothing a good kick wouldn't sort out where warranted, for the owners not the dog 😉
@@Nagfan09 too right ..it's always the human and not the dog to blame ... one time some guys dog bit me .. and then he wanted a fight in the street ... there's some crazy people out there : )
Do you go home once you finish all those parcels and letters or do you have to stay at the depo?
a few things have changed since i filmed this video .... they have introduced a "clocking" in and out system .... barcode on the forehead is coming next.
@@snakeblanketillusion3539 hahahhaa and mabe anal probing after 😄 🤣
I work for AnPost, Irish postal service. We are tracked relentlessly via our vans for speed and lenght of time van is stopped.
We can only empty roadside boxes via a scanner so they have to be emptied at the correct time not a minute before. Big Brother is constantly looking over our shoulder! All changed since I first started 20 odd years ago.
Just wondering, why are there two of ye on delivery? Is one training?
they introduced 2 to a van about 12 years ago here ... it's like being back at "school"
@@snakeblanketillusion3539 but why? Security?
nothing to do with security ... all part of the plan to ruin the job @@paureh9573
