I have to replace one side, but I definitely wanna go with an upgrade as well, the aluminum sounds a good idea..
I ordered the parts off Amazon. Type is the part name or rc truck name and a whole bunch of parts pop up. Sorry been awhile have no idea about the numbers.
I know it´s an old video, but as this being a "tutorial" it should be mentioned you forgot to install the outer baring behind the wheel hex (Partno. 5099A).
I just had this happened to me on the rear and I was lucky the baring was still on there. Just ordered a few spares though.

Do yourself a favor man get rid of those screw pins and put in the harden steel pins very nice upgrade. Mine has all the aluminum where the weak points of the plastics are nothing over the top but where it’s needed. I haven’t had a problem breaking anything since. Check out Treal Hobby very nice precision aluminum excellent fit and finish. I also changed all my bearings out and replaced them all with Fasteddy Bearings better bearings smother ride.

You should buy the longer steel traxxas axls for the widemaxx.
They work great on high jumps in skateparks.

Yes they will, running wide kit and GPM shafts on mine

Will a steel drive shafts from the stampede 4x4 fit on the maxx I’m fixing to order one or I might go to the hobby store
I have no idea, my friend never tried it. I bought a set of GPM ones off Amazon and so far they work great. Been a year now they been on and zero issues. Hope all works out for you.
@@2ManyHobbies16 and on the Traxxas maxx with the 4s esc can it take a 2s to 4s Lipo
@@dustinplee5067 thought it was 3 to 4 s not sure really always run 4s
@@2ManyHobbies16 is there any way that you can plug a 2s Lipo in it and just pick it up off the ground and see and then let me know if it moves when you pick it up and give it throttle

Yep, with big 3.8 wheels like this, you definitely need metal driveshafts, those plastic outer drives almost will break off every one or second run.
They been on for a bit , now just not making the cut !!!
Traxxas steels and be done with it. Especially with those tires.
