    Rich is a great instructor! has such a pleasant and encouraging manner with a 1st-timer!
    A far cry from the barking insults I faced from my Flight Instructor during Cadet Flight Scholarship (PPL) in the Air Cadets in Canada 🤣

    Picture perfect example of why: 1) I love giving intro rides and 2) flying with kids is rejuvenating whether they are my kids or not. Awesome work!

    Nice job Brooklyn! You instinctively flared the airplane - I saw you apply that CRITICAL back pressure all thru the landing -- that's the sign of a natural! Most new pilots want to slam it on the ground, with all sorts of problems happening. Remember that feeling and you'll have many "greasers" ahead!

    Great video Rich thanks for sharing!! Great job Brooklyn! She has a future! Way to go! Thanks for taking care of our kids man, both of my daughters want to become pilots as well. Kudos to Brooklyn and to you as well, Rich. She does seem to be a 'natural' in the making. Rich, you delivered a calm, confident, and easy to follow First Flight with her. Two key ingredients for her success was your style and your pace. You managed to keep some pressure on her, while not overloading her. Perfect! Bravo!!

    Very interesting video. I was an instructor in Canada, and I agree that this was an accelerated first flight. She was given much more than a typical first lesson, let alone a discovery flight. I was instinctively watching her for signs of overwhelm. An instructor’s enthusiasm to share knowledge can sometimes make the learning curve feel too steep. To her credit, she took it all in stride, and you guided her very well. You created a great experience for her!

    I am way past it, but I wish I could take flying lessons from you Rich, or Juan, Scott or Josh.....Dan would be just a little too much for me and my personality! Last lessons I had were in 1984 from a retired United 727 Capt......what I learned first was the soft and subtle touch on all controls ....I get why Dan and others preach AQP. Such a great vlog Rich, reminded of my first lesson and stalls right off the bat.....appreciated!

    That was cool! She is ole’ school, could likely solo is 8 hrs. or less if she sticks with you. Wish all instructors were like you. On “my coast”, there are not enough students so instructors hang on the ones they have to get the coveted 1500 hours for the regional FO seat. Best Wishes, be fun to see her progress. Oh, if I were her, I’d demand to stick with you as instructor. Thanks!

    Rich once she feels the power of the 182 she won’t fly the 172 Skyhawk

  • @steveprice4779
    @steveprice4779 ปีที่แล้ว

    Will she get her training in a 182 or will she train in a Skyhawk? My dad was a Cessna and Piper dealer and I trained in a 172. The 182 always felt like a big heavy aircraft to me. We did sell 182s to guys that never flew before and did all their training in them. I had a friend that bought a Baron with the big engine's and he had never flown before and did all his training in it.... that seemed crazy to me.
