So I'm trying to use my art to design handmade and POD items, but the climb for sales is slow on the non-custom products. Hearing that both of you have been on the struggle bus really helped me today, it was that boost I needed to hear. You're both so strong to even share your journeys online and try to run a business along side doing TH-cam. It's amazing.

Shawna, have you ever tried turning your ads off to see what happens now that you are established and have ranking? I ran ads all last year and turned them off this year bc they didn’t really make a difference. Now I make way more profit and get more sales without ads.
So the idea is too be more profitable with ads on with the bigger picture in mind, so if you are making more profit with them off this means you were not optimizing properly. The winning is to build a moat around your shop of competitiveness which comes from a maxed out budget. For you this means you need to build stricter thresholds of spend and what you even allow ad money to go to

It is interesting is that she has her own way of doing ads. Last thursday, I started etsy ads and it is great. It is easier than FB ads. I use have a big reason to do this because it is hard.

I clicked this off months ago and it's still showing as off but on the ad stats for last 30 days, it's still being shown. This has happened on nearly all I've done it with - including some that are really irrelevant.

It is interesting is that she has her own way of doing ads. Last thursday, I started etsy ads and it is great. It is easier than FB ads. I use have a big reason to do this because it is hard.
Yes, I really like her method especially for people selling low ticket items. Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your feedback. I totally agree with you. I think these ads are way more difficult.

Well, now I've come to the end of this video and I'm in tears. While I can't relate to Shawna's heartbreaking story (sending you so much love and light, Shawna!), I understand the experience of learning through grief, sorrow, struggle, and pain, and letting it all fortify the very best parts of ourselves, to become better versions of ourselves in every way. One phrase I love that I think may resonate is "We are what we do". (Not what we say. Not what we think. What we do.) So I don't quit. So inspired to get some sh*t done after watching this. I have a question if that's ok? I toggle my ad search terms off that I think aren't relevant or aren't specific enough. However, they are still beign shown. Is this normal?

@@EcomHannah thank you for replying! Yes the exact same phrase is still being shown for my listings. As an example I get a lot of clicks for "home decor" but it's too broad. I clicked this off months ago and it's still showing as off but on the ad stats for last 30 days, it's still being shown. This has happened on nearly all I've done it with - including some that are really irrelevant.

@@EcomHannah yes that's right. It's on keywords that get so many clicks (more than 100) but it was turned "off" months ago

Etsy has almost nothing to do vwith handmade anymore. I hate it.
We are handmade sellers still and we really stand out on the market place since we showcase how we are handmade so for us I think it really helps because it is a huge selling point!
