  • In this video I set up and test a portable A/C for my shop- including adding an exhaust vent to the wall of my shop. I got it refurbished from Woot.com, but they also sell it on Amazon. It's a pretty decent unit, for my purposes it's basically in the worst possible environment and still does a decent job cooling. I've had it for a while now, and it's been excellent as a backup unit during power outages hooked up to my generator.

In regards to the heat...if you have the same one as mine, it is in fact a heat pump, not a resistive heating element.

Hello. Thinking of buying one How is it hold ing up? I see you used extension cord. Any issues with the cord getting hot ? Thanks.

Still runs great even after moving around quite a bit. I wouldn't use an extension cord long term unless you used a pretty large gauge wire since it draws so much current. For just testing and temporary use I didn't really give it a chance to get hot, but it did get a little warm.
