Good overview I’ve had my ACRO P-2 since mid July and find the brightness to be about one step up from the equivalent setting on the P-1. Overall the P-2 is a worthy upgrade and certainly the ACRO to get.
You said that the P1 has a battery life of 15,000 hours and that you have to replace the battery every month. There are 720 hours in a 30 day month, what happened with the other 14,280 hours of battery capacity.
I attended a pistol red dot instructor school. I was top shot shooting an Acro. We did a drill where the instructor was misting our optics with water while we shot, simulating bad weather. One of the guys shooting an RMR couldn’t shoot because he just saw too many dots once it got wet. Acro has a great field of view, is extremely rugged, and you don’t have to remove the optic to change batteries. Highly recommended.
Great video, I reserved C2 version back in the July. Shop told that they would start shipping in september. However, still waiting mine.. I guess they are late on deliveries or all the produced ones are sold fast af.
Nice vids. I'll give this video a like and subscribe since the products you review are the same items I got on a short list to buy to upgrade old shit and to put on a few new handguns I got recently as prices are back to pre covid days. Rifles are still expensive and I hope prices go down soon as I would like to get a few more rifles for different purposes before they get even more expensive
Good video. You mentioned that you switched to the Holosun 509. I have a 509 as well but find the slight magnification an issue. I also see a little magnification in my RMR but not as bad as the 509. I don’t see any with my Sig Romeo 3XL and Romeo 1 Pro. That said, I really like the idea of an enclosed pistol optic and think that will be the future for duty/Mil. How is the glass with the ACRO compared to the Holosun 509 and other optics you’ve used?
To me the ACRO is much clearer and the dot sharper. Still like the 509T. When I am actually shooting I don't notice the less clear and slight magnification and less than perfect dot.
I have the 509t and ACRO C2. The Holosun has the bigger window, but the C2 is much clearer, no fisheye or magnification that I notice (compared to the very noticeable fisheye and magnification of the 509t) and the aimpoint is almost true to color while the 509t has a strong blue tint. Both work great though when actually shooting.
Great video. My first Aimpoint was the PRO, my best investment in red dots by far. I have Vortex, Holosun, Burris for pistols but I’m finding my red dots are distorted or elongated. I’m told it’s my eyes and is probably the case. Does anyone have that issue with the ACRO P2. Thanks
Is this daylight bright? I watched another video where guys were in the dessert with the p1 and it wasn’t bright enough. The 509T was brighter. Thank you and great video.
I consider it daylight bright. I do not notice an appreciable difference in the brightness of the dots between the P2 and 509T. Even though the P2 has a larger dot, for me the 509T dot appears larger. I have an astigmatism and the 509T dot is not as sharp and appears larger.
Is the protective glass replaceable on the P2? I see those little pin holes on the side and it looks like it’s a removable part. That would be an awesome feature if it is.
Changed it at a year. Was tempted to let it keep going and see how long it last but if it can go a year I am good with that. I change all my batteries at the one year mark.
That is the big question. The glass is clearer on the ACRO. For me though, it is only something I really notice when I am looking for it. There are some that look down on Holosun due to it being made in China, for those people I recommend the ACRO. I have two 509Ts and plan on buying another soon.
As much as I like the P-1, I don't like having to change the battery that often and maintain a supply of batteries for it. I would wait for the P-2 for the battery life and battery availability or just get a Holosun 509T. The P-2s are starting to make their way out there.
@@MrDbtn I’m leaning towards those two as well. I like the idea of scalarworks if the zero holds like their video shows. It is about $50 dollars more than ADM and in 7075.. Scalarworks offers in lower 1/3 height but not 1.93 which seems the way optics are going for NODS.
is there any change on the firearms that the P2 works on as apposed to the P1? I was told the p1 will not fit the sig 365XL and I'm just hoping that changed with the p2
Water depth rating. P version is rated for a deeper level for a longer period of time. This only really comes into play if you’re a special forces operator on a suba diving mission. The C version will handle rain and accidental submersion just fine.
@@YukarisGearReviews the newer P1 models had battery life optimized a bit more. The first P1’s off the assembly line had much worse battery life than later produced P1s.
My choice? NEITHER! Instead a HOLOSUN AEMS. Many more features and JUST as rugged. (See Sage Dynamics' drop testa on TH-cam.) but far less money. I have the AEMS on my RUGER PC chassis carbine and a HOLOSUN 509T on my RUGER 57 pistol. I'd say Aimpoint needs to wake up and INNOVATE - or lose more and more market share to HOLOSUN.
The AEMS is not a pistol optic, and the glass clarity and dot quality will not be as good as the more expensive Aimpoint. So you are paying for something. Whether that extra price is worth it to you or not, that’s up to you to decide. Other than that holosun is a Chinese company. I would rather send my funds to a Swiss company. Again, personal choices.
@@mouthbreather280 i promise you somthing if not half the stuff in your house was made or has parts in it from china so to me the whole it’s made in china trope is bullshit 🤷🏽♂️

Great video! Love em both. I moved my P1s to offsets on my rifles that have LPVOS, batteries aren't such a big deal there. P2s on pistols now.
I did the exact same thing.
Where were you able to buy the P2? I’m looking and have set up notification from Aimpoint US. Reported delivery is about Jan. 2022.
@@j.n.8745 This one was an evaluation model from Aimpoint. Put an order in for six of them and unfortunately delayed.

Outstanding!!!
Do these share the same footprint for mounting? I have a baseplate for the acro 1, will it work on the acro P2?
I’m sold on Aimpoint quality but really, what made you replace the Holoson?
Its additional features are compelling.

Whats the actual battery life on the P2 though? Instead of 1 month are you changing it every 5 or 6 months now?

No. It is either on or off.

Should I just get the P-1 cause 2 is never in stock and I was gonna get the 2 for duty weapon but I might have to do the 1
