- Hello, it's been a while. I decided to clean up my nonsense posts from years ago and every once in a while I will post new stuff, mostly drum covers from now on. I hope you like this cover of Spain.
Credits for the music: +commusic backing track
Cymbals used in this vid:
-14" Zildjian Avedis hihat 1960's
-20" Zildjian Oriental crash of doom /3 rivets (left)
-22" Dream Vintage bliss crash/ride (right) - เพลง
Dude I love that u hit those accents with snare. Instead of just playing clicks like in the recording. Sounded really nice!
The drum sound and cymbal selection cant be any better ... great playing 😍
Thanks man!!
I am so jealous of the level of samba feel you have people don't realise how many years of dedicated practise it takes to obtain this level of ease in your playing. You sir are an inspiration to me to start playing again I watch this video almost every single day it keeps inspiring me!!
My god this guy is really good that's some impressive playing man congrats on this one
This is definitely one of the best drum covers of Spain that I've watched. No overplaying. Just tight and clean! Great playing, bud!
I've watched a LOT of drum covers of Spain on TH-cam and this is easily one of the top 3 I've ever seen - the control, technique, flow and overall groove is perfect. Mixed a little more, you could tell me this is the actual recorded drum part on this song and I'd believe you. Amazing job!
Thanks a lot! Means so much to me!
This really good. Great feel and touch.
One of the best covers for Spain!
nice drum set up, mojo for days especially the cymbals. nice playing too!
your kit sounds amazing! great cover
Man amazing samba feel! Great telecoteco and campana variations on the ride, feels like Brazil up in here!!
2:34 man that little cymbal hihat thing jabbed me out of nowhere!!
Thanks a lot! I'm actually not paying attention when playing, Just going with the tune 😁
just wanna say,. this is the best Spain cover on my opinion.. :-)
Maan, this is awesome. Super tight and nice. Love playing this tune myself. Keep it up!
/Maximiliam
Thanks! I'm gonna check it out!
That's just so good. I'm a pianist trying to recreate these drums here and I dont even know where to begin.
Whoa...! I am wonderfully impressed.
Yea dude, super slick and tight feel. Much Love from Denmark
Really enjoyed this! I play this tune and it's nice to get a point of view shot =)

Thanks a lot! Straight from the Saffire into Reaper back in the days.
man i wish i could play like this. fantastic vid 👍
ok how do u do this? This is insane!!! Ive always loved spain but you just made me love it more
Thanks a lot! Appreciated! I don't know, I play when the tune starts and stop when it ends. I also listened to drummers such as Dave Weckl, Horacio Hernandez and Antonio Sanchez to understand their feel when playing jazz and latin. It helped me out a lot. Always worth checking out, have a great day of playing. Cheers from Holland! 🙌🏽
Also. What’s the bpm

한세 장 감사합니다 선생님!
Hey man nice playing there! I know this vid’s pretty old but do you recall what drums you were using? If so please tell me, I love their sound.
Thanks! It was a Noble&Cooley CD Maple
Great! 👏👏👏
Good. Very good❤
Amazing cover! Wow!! So good. May I ask what ride that is? I NEED it lol
Thanks man! It's a 22" Dream Vintage Bliss 🤩
Hey dude, nice cover, best i´ve ever seen. Where did u find the play along?
Thanks man! It's on youtube
Good, fantastic
Good job friend!! Keep it up!!! hi from Armenia!!
What heads are you rocking and how did you tune your snare? Your snare sounds fantastic!
Thanks pal. I believe all of the heads we're Evans level 360 G1 coated, including the snare. I'm not quite sure though, I like to experiment with sounds, so I change my heads every once in a while.
The snare in this vid is a 14x5.5" Mapex Black Panther Birdseye maple edition. If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask.
Sweet!
Awesome! Can I use your cover as a backing track?
Christophe Honledoigte Sure, why not!
Hey Man, great cover! I was wondering if you have the drumless audio somewhere laying around? It has been taken down from TH-cam unfortunately, and I need it desperately to audition for music school here in the Netherlands. Looking forward to your response!
Hey mate, sorry for the late response, but u fortunately I haven't. It's on youtube 😁
Sounds great, tasteful driving drumming! Btw: what overhead mics are these?
Thanks a lot! Those are sE Electronics sE5 overheads, amazing mics for the price. Also amazing on vocals!
@@JeffreyMiddelveld thanks!
Hey man, Amazing playing ! I know this is a bit late haha but just wondering, do you know what type of groove this is called? if I am not mistaken it is a type of Jazz Samba groove ? Really wanna learn this song :)
Dude, I'm a brazilian drummer... This is KINDA samba groove mixed with Jazz comping on the ride and snare melodies...
Great job love your ride and high hat on the up. Tight. May I ask where can I download the drumless track you used? Thank you appreciate it.
Thanks a lot buddy! Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/rids1VqL7pY/w-d-xo.html
@@JeffreyMiddelveld Thanks djay My for that link. Just adding more homework to a list I need to get started on and one of is Chicks track. New to doing this setting up with edrums over covers. Having fun. Stay safe and keep posting ...good stuff man!
参考になります👍
What version of spain is the one you use? I like it better than the original one, lol
gorgeous
Hi nice drumming May I ask u.where did u.get.the.score and sound track to play along? :)
Hi, thanks! I got the drum along track from youtube ;)
man, it's so great!! whats the technics necessary for play this?? please
Thanks man! I wasn’t using any techniques in particular. Just improv en going with the flow
@@JeffreyMiddelveld got it
Hey I am trying to learn this for a class on drums and I was wondering if you could tell me the main rhythm you are using. Thanks.
spike9812 Thanks man! No main rhythm really, it's just improv samba feel. Can't go wrong with that!
Wow greeeat cover! Do you have the drum sheet? :)
Hi. Do you have drums recording without backing track? If yes can I use it on my video please?
Hi, do you have the drumless audio file?
I’m pretty sure the original drumless track was taken down :(
aye bro i need this drumless track for my HSC and it’s gone
un abrazo ,,
Hi there amazing playing. Do u have the drum chart to this? Or where can i get it? Thanks!!
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately I don't, I played by feel, hahah
Maybe you could make a transcription.. That would be nice.
@@FelixZoeltsch Hahah, that's not gonna fit in my timetable unfortunately 😂
@@JeffreyMiddelveld Not you Jeffrey Middelveld, you don't need a transcription. But for people who like to play like you is it a nice method to hear and try to write it down..
Great👍✌️😉
Accent on the kick like Bonham. 👌
😍😍😍
Sehr gut!!!!
Where did you get the backing track from?
Great job! Where i can find this backing track?
Thanks mate! I searched for it a couple of days ago, but can't seem to find it anywhere anymore on youtube. Lalal.ai would also work great to remove the drums!
Dopeee
Bro cuales son los ritmos que llevas????
It sounds like a samba pattern. Am i right?
What arrangement is this version sounds great?
can you please give us the backing track it’s not on youtube anymore
Very good feeling.
Do you use bass drum 2 + 2 or 2 + 1?
Thanks! I do whatever I think feels right at the time, pure improv style
Suena genial!
¿Cómo se llama el ritmo base qué haces ?
Gracias! Ehm, dificíl.. Yo creo es un combi de Samba y un Partido Alto (de Brasil), jajaj
@@JeffreyMiddelveld I'm not deeply familiar with samba. Is partido alto not a normal part of it? You mention that you were combining the two of them, but I've always thought that they were both normal parts of samba.
@@JeffreyMiddelveld I just ask because I want to make sure that I'm playing it correctly.
@@ryancox5097 well, those aren't the same actually. The Samba is a groove and the Partido Alto refers more to the rhythm of the Samba, some kind of Brasilian clave that's played on the:
| . 0 . . 0 . 0 . 0 | 0 . 0 . . 0 . 0 |
But I misspoke, don't believe that I played that particular rhythm in this video. My bad, hahah.
Can we have the drum sheet?
Jesus loves you
Aaaaaaaaameeeeennnnn!!!!🫡🙌🏼

Hello what version of Spain is this?
122 bpm
How do you move the fingers like so
Moeller technique. Takes practice, but makes easy in the long run
@@JeffreyMiddelveld thank you. I put so much stress on my fingers! I’m mainly a rock/funk drummer, so I don’t do many fancy rolls. I’m not good at rolls, but I digress. Thank you!
bro has a brain for each limb
Tama silverstar?
squadspud Noble&Cooley
Where can I find the tab?
What tab, tab for what? No tabs, sorry man!
that tape right there is a left over hey if you know you know
Hahah, nope those were actual tapes 😁
오우 부드러우시다 재즈 전문하셨냐?
나
오타에요 냐 아니구 나에용
I did, quite some time. But I like Latin more, in terms of playing.
This is all feel.....and cant be taught.
여기까지 온 당신 정말 위험합니다
Excellent drumming!!! I hate you!!
I like it, but I don't like the snare sound...
It's an acquired taste
Matter of taste indeed, I'd never go for a low fat snare in jazz and latin music. Always high in pitch, short sustain with loose snares
