Yes. Before the highway 279 bridge was built across the lake. They closest way to the park was by ferry. The ferry docked at the bottom of that staircase.
The CCC parks are nice! This was the first park we seen outdoor living rooms made from various stones. Abilene SP has a pool made by them and Garner has a historic dance hall. It’s amazing some of the stuff built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
hey hey hey saw you on daydream about nice things tonight and wanted to stop by. so glad we did. cant wait to check out more and more adventure. much love
Glorious Life On Wheels Can’t beat the price! If you have a park pass you can get in for free :-). I was surprised to see how empty this park was. Thanks for stopping by and commenting :-)

Me and my family are going camping here for my kids spring break. I can't wait to get out into nature with them and not be cooped up bc of covid 🥰 First time going here hope the over 3 HR drive is worth it 😊
It’s a nice park and the lake area was spacious. Plenty of room for everyone. I know with Covid going on everyone ready to get out. I hope y’all enjoy your visit. Let me know what you think of the park when you visit. Happy hiking and safe travels 😊
David Gutierrez On our last visit the lake levels were good. This park beautiful and underrated. When’s the last time you visited the park? Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks for stopping by. Texas is a beautiful state with over 90 parks to visit. You won't be disappointed if you visit us. Thanks for stopping by friend.
The park website says the stairway was where boats would come up for people to offload and head to the dance pavilion for those coming from across the lake.
Ronie Calzoncinth It was a nice park, didn’t know what to expect when we showed up. I try to get the pins and post cards when we visit. You have to visit this park when you get a chance Ronnie. Thanks for stopping by and watching brother. I always appreciate it!
May I ask where you got your animated buttons? Another great video with lots of information on the park. Love the trail.... How many state parks does Texas have?
TerryX2Explore I found these buttons on pixabay. I think I’m at 14 Texas State Parks. My goal is to visit all 90 by 2022. Hope all is well and thanks for watching Terry!

We are visiting in Two weeks! Thanks for the tour
Absolutely! Your going to love it! It’s a wonderful family park.
Thanks for the look around.
We’ll probably visit this park soon.
Happy Camping!
It’s a lovely park and one of the best CCC parks we’ve been to in Texas.
The pavilion hosted dances back in the day. The grand staircase was for people to arrive by boat from across the lake!
I bet it was something special back in the day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Never been to lake Brownwood. What I liked most of all from the video was the architecture on buildings and other man made things along the trails.

Any park that has a lake is a winner in my book, plus fishing and water sports and only $5 to get in!

I love the CCC architecture. It's fun to discover more of it at a park. This is good size lake, would love to swim in that on a hot day.
You would love this park. The outdoor living rooms were cool. This park was bigger than I thought. Definitely recommend coming here to cool off.
