    Just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone else had trouble with these: I couldn't for the life of me get the wires to lock on the male-end (aka the longer side). Went through about 2 sets of connectors and a bunch of wire before I figured it out: needle-nose pliers. I had to grip the crimped connector through the other end and pull on it relatively hard to get it to lock since I had no luck in just trying to push it through by pushing on the wire itself. So definitely try to pull-method if your wire isn't locking into place on the male-end.

      Reach in from either direction and pull the red locking plate out a bit. Or tap really hard and let inertia do it. The insert, and press the red plate down to lock it.

      I don't see it in the vid but they have numbers on the ends of each connector so you can orientate the wires when you go in if you mess up your almost guaranteed damage before you can remove it.
      Also, when pairing wire's it is a good practice to use the same wire gauge it don't necessarily have to be the same color but yes the same size 😜.
      Also, just a thought the connections only connect one way so don't mess up and wire it backwards 🤣.
      Just sayin.
      Good luck all you don't need special tools but it does make it easier.

  • @killer2600
    @killer2600 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Not bad but putting on the weather seal before stripping the wire and using an open barrel crimp tool is a more efficient and better way to do these. When you have a bag of these connectors you really should have the special tool. It just makes life easier and your crimps look more professional.

    • @bertodiy

    Those appear to be AMP Superseal 1.5 connectors. Weather Pack is a competitor owned by Packard/Delphi, I believe. If you want a water-tight connection Superseal is a better choice than Weather Pack. If you want something even better, try looking at Deutsch DT series.

    Hey buddy, I have an outboard motor boat I have a sensor I pulled it apart. A orange thing fell into the water some kind of rubber thing I’m going to pick it up at the Marine store. Can I put the rubber thing back on the same way you were putting this rubber thing on your wire

    • @bertodiy

      @@bertodiy Thank you for answering my wires for this boat sensor. It’s just like the way that you have in your video you a black and red wire go into the plastic thing with two individuals holes and they keep falling out because the orange rubber thing fell into the water, so what are you saying put the wires in the tube and put silicone in there or try to get a hot glue gun in there? Can you be very detailed of what you mean please?

    How do you identify which type of terminal to crimp on the wire to enter the bushing terminal connector? I have a 220 545 52 28 pin bushing connector that ultimately needs to hook up to a p04602670AE heated seat module. I can not identify the terminal that is needed to save my life and no one seems to know either. A 2.8mm spade connector is close to the size but too small. I think it's 3mm. If not 3.5mm and rectangle shaped to go over the male end
