nicee, it's literally took me 5 minutes the 2 times I tried to record this lol. You only need one block there as long as its unbreakable by the dragon, and the exact X won't even really matter. It's just so your server velocity slams into that and then flies off into the void, instead of potentially hitting the terrain in front of you and snagging on random blocks and losing the Z velocity too
Nice!!!! :eyes: BTW, I tested the dragon initial rotation in the past and found out that: 1) RD2-7 -> (dragon initial rotation: 37) 2) RD8-24 -> (dragon initial rotation: 229) 3) RD25-32 (dragon initial rotation: 37) I see in description that you only focused on rotation 229, but maybe rotation 37 is worth? (just a random guess ofc, I could be wrong)
oh interesting! i guess that would maybe make sense since it’d determine which chunks would still need to be generated at dragon spawn? just doing the math in my head 37 prolly means faster perches on average, but i suspect it’d be a little less predictable as well. I’ll definitely have to look into though, that’s pretty goofy
The end city world random guess is correct, however what it sets the seed to will depend on your seed, so this setup will change per seed. Perhaps some seeds can be much more reliable
That is quite funny. The whole thing is super seed dependent anyway tho since it relies on the terrain/pillars so much, so already I wouldn't be surprised if there's seeds with like easy 10+% setups
I will also warn that on high render distances/slow computers you may load other end city regions last, setting the seed to something other than what you expected. Basically whatever end city region the last chunk is loaded in before the dragon is summoned will affect the yaw. If memory serves the regions are 20x20 with a corner at 0,0, so we have between 4-16 regions we might get the seed from.
ohhh okay that would make sense. Crafterdark said that he tested it at some point as was able to get 2 angles using different render distances on this seed, but I haven't looked at it personally
With this setup would it be possible to test for very small movements when waiting for the dragon to exit perch? Since you can move quite accurately almost to 3 decimals by shifting and charging the bow, could it be that a different slight position could give a better chance of oneshotting? Also if people going for instaperches anyway, would it matter to have the setup just outside the area of charges if it's gonna 1/3 on the first path anyway?
i could probably look for some small movements around the current setup, it’s just hard to do it off the bat since you have to simulate a bunch of dragons for each movement. and idk how feasible it’ll be once we get actually fast setups. I’m not quite sure what the area of charges means, but this setup is already on the edge of the strafe zone(
icicic, and tbh you probably can’t even get within range by the time the first strafe chance happens anyway lol. surely there’s another 4 seconds to squeeze out
it doesn’t hurt to, but you won’t ever notice the difference. compared to x50, x47 just means you can get 3 more meters per tick of -X velocity before bonking and losing it. So it’s like at most a 1.5 damage difference on like .5% of shots
@@CurcuitStore i have a question, is it valid to just do perch commands constantly on the same seed to try for one shots or is it better to do new seed every time / avoid perch commands altogether?
doing any commands will probably mess up the paths quite a bit. it’s probably fine for timing, you’ll just have a lower chance of hitting it. even just relogging to reset the dragon will give you worse odds tho, so making a new world is probably best(but annoying)
Gonna prank emma when she downloads discord Day 1: Day 2: Day 817: anyways with my sheer brainpower simulations i think i've thought of the best way to tas this but i simply refuse to
dragon knockback is based on how close you are to a point on its hitbox, and so if you get close enough to it(within ~.02 blocks), it’ll try and fling you out thousands of blocks a second. you can then use that boost to shoot an arrow going the same speed. And since arrow damage is proportional to its speed, it’s enough to hit the dragon and kill it instantly. The setup is then just to give you the best chance of getting close enough to that point
I’m not sure off the top of my head, but faster than before. There doesn’t seem to be too much I can do besides just getting closer to the fountain though, at least from what I’ve seen so far

Is the gameplay a map, or a mod that you're using? If it's a map, it would be super helpful to have for timing practice

What about peaceful?
I assume you stack one extra block, then jump to shoot, just like the old setup, is that correct?
for peaceful I would probably still dig down one and then jump to shoot. that way your server velocity still catches on the endstone
