You should be sponsored by them. What Wonderful gift idea. Now you can make your girlfriend the best food. You know the way to a women's heart is through her tummy. LOL😂😂
So many videos lately and it really just brightens my day and even my week. Your videos make me continue trying to be the best person I can be both emotionally, “pulling my heartstrings”, and also actually adulting haha. Thank you for all the years and hopefully many more.
I love your personality! Some vids are informative but kind of dry to watch - I love watching you! Even what would normally be the slowest part- making the dumplings- you bring in other stuff, like replying to comments, and memories about your family, and tips on how to do it. And the llama! I love that llama moving around! I got one of these lunchboxes and I was "This is awesome!.... how do I use it?" You have totally helped with that! Thank you!
Yeah dumpling making was my family bonding time as well. We made our own dumpling skins as well from scratch so tons of bonding time... Each person as a different job. One making the dough one, rolling the dough into skins, one wrapping, another cooking.
Dumpling talk: mine's dropping in a quarter of a stock cube, a tablespoon of rice wine, a ton of garlic, and a good grating of ginger in the dumpling filling. My mom loves them fried too, and my pops and I love them pan seared. I make the wrappers from scratch, as the fam and I find the premade ones to have a slightly unpleasant sour aftertaste. Any remaining wrapper doesn't go to waste- we fill em up with cheese, mince, and long green chilies & fry em up. Awesome snack!
We made vegan dumplings from scratch (including the skins). I used cabbage, shiitake mushroom, grated carrot, tofu, minced fresh ginger, onion, green garlic (not sure what to call it, it’s like green onions though), tamari, rice wine vinegar, and coconut sugar. They turned out really tasty! I had to air fry them though because the flour I used to make the skins was soft white whole wheat flour and that ended up being a mistake. I will only use a hard red whole wheat flour from now on (our family is whole food plant based, no oil). The kids had a blast making them and they got to learn about Lunar New Year, which many of their neighbors and school friends celebrate.
That sounds like so much fun! Wow I really want to try coconut sugar. Your dumplings sounds super tasty, and seems like it was an amazing time to bond with the family :)
DaBoki is just living his best life with this food box. I need to buy one. They definitely have a bunch of styles on AliExpress ranging from 13-18 bucks Canadian. Gonna pick one up !
Happy to see you more active david! Please don't leave for 2 months and come back with a video called "its been a while", "im alive", or another "hello there again again" haha. Love the bloopers btw!!
Wait, why doesn't daboki mix the filling in a bowl? It would mix better and be less of a mess! (Coming from a family that makes a lot of dumplings, including filling and wrap)
New subscriber here, have the itakis for a long time, never got to use it, now that there is shelter in place and we are self quarantined, I will give this a try. More power to your channel! Stay safe!
Amazon has your lunchbox for $27. You have to scroll through several before you find it. I live in a nursing home and I hate the bland food we get. You’ve inspired me to start cooking again!
Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing you a healthy and prosperous New Year! I loved this video. Dumplings are so great, and there are so many options for filling. I used to have fun making them, too. For me, the boiled ones are my favorite! I love the llama popping up here and there. So fun! Thanks for the video. I'm enjoying your lunchbox cooker experiments!
Are you going to make some more Itaki dishes? I just bought the itaki chef and now I need to make some recipes. I don't eat pork so I am going to try your dumplings with ground chicken.
새해 복 많이 받으세요! (Got this from google, hope it's right!) For dumplings, you want to shred the cabbage and then cut it into one inch pieces. Salt the cabbage and mix it well (for one head, you only need about a teaspoon) and leave it in a strainer for around 10-15 minutes. Then squeeze it to release the rest of the liquid. The cabbage is now ready to mix with the meat :) I love experimenting with dumplings, it's so much fun. One of my favorites is to add some shredded apple (I use a box grater, the kind for cheese) and mix it with ground pork. Dash of salt, a little cinnamon, a bit of cardamom, some ginger, and brown sugar. So good, and very fragrant! I also make my own bao (ppang in Korean, I think?) and one of my absolute favorites for sweet bao is cubed asian pear, halved raspberries, and a bit of white sugar with chinese five spice powder. Although, I think curry buns are my absolute favorite type of bao :D Edit: You'll find that each type of cooking method will change the flavor of your dumplings, which means if you cook 10 dumplings out of a batch of thirty with each method, they'll each taste different! It's quite fun :) And be adventurous, food is meant to be a journey!
Haha I think that's right! wow your dumpling recipe sounds amazing! I might need to try out some of your recipes sometime. Do you have a blog of some sort? Seems like you need to start something up if you haven't yet.
Watching on my fire stick tv and when he said alexa stop my tv turned off lol stupid alexa doesn’t listen to me but the tv....lol so obsessed with these recipes to try.
I was actually just wondering if you can warm up frozen dumplings in the electric lunch box so I can take it to work and here I come across your video. My bf bought me an electric lunch box so that I could use it at work because I hate cold food unless it's supposed to be cold. Watching your videos inspires me to use it a whole lot more. Thank you.
omg my aunty in china just got me 2 electric lunchboxes (1 for me and 1 for my husband). Mine are more rectangle sized but IM SO EXCITED TO USE THEM BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!
Wow. I came upon this channel by accident while searching for info on an electric bento box. This is GOLD! New subscriber! can you do soup dumplings??????
I love your itaki videos so fun to watch. But I would love to see if you can upgrade it to the itaki chef pro. To do a compare of which one is better. But that’s only a thought, hopefully you can consider.
It is 4:37am and I'm so hungry and excited to try my new Itaki lunch box. Man your gf loves you that's why she bought this! So you can enjoy cooking nice hot lunch!!!
I LOVE your electric lunchbox videos! I ended up buying one and the website I got it from threw in a free recipe e-book. I can email you the link to it, if you're interested! The recipes don't look all that interesting overall but they definitely give me some ideas lol
Happy chinese new year to u David!! Watching this while eating chinese new year goodies & dumplings are one of mi favs food!! p.s. i always have them in soup bcos my mum cooks them in them, but i love gyoza style seared / pan-fried dumplings better & i love mine with vermicelli :) HAHAHAHA AND I LOVE THE BLOOPERS once again
Happy Chinese New Year DaBoki! I wish you nothing but success and good memories for 2019! Looking forward to more quality content~ Midterms sneaking up on me, though I'll never stop popping by to watch your videos ^^
Testing... you always are testing! Hope you can find a break lol. Thanks so much for all the support man, and good luck with your studies. Happy Chinese New Year :)
1. I would recommend for you to use a mixing bowl 😑😑😑 2. Have the lunch box steaming hot first before placing the dumplings so that the wrapper will not get soggy. 3. You can put sesame oil at the top steamer so that the dumplings won't stick or even at the bottom to add flavor to your broth.
I've been looking at these electric lunch boxes since I found a video by the Itaki lunch box on IG. You are supposed to leave it alone until the light goes out and it stops cooking. kind of a set it and forget it thing. That is what attracted me to it.
Are you purposely not sharing the brand name? I am researching to buy and seeing many different brands, some with 3 layers, and so excited, but not sure which to buy for best quality. Also - tortured wanting dumplings so much right now! Thanks for showing how easy these are to make... I will be running to get these wrappers asap.
I think I might get one of these lunch boxes. I've seen a few of your videos now and I'm like way interested. As a side note though, do you post recipes anywhere? I'm rather inept at cooking so knowing amounts of ingredient would really help me get started!!!
That is so my favorite food ever since the mom of my boss in China made me taste it....she showed me how to make it from making the dough to make the skin to the mixed vegetables and meat that you stuffed inside but failed to make it everytime...I miss Chinese Lala so much and her cooking...
Love your videos. Maybe you know this but you are suppose to put water in the bottom of the pot. Use the small cup they sent you Pour in two of those cups and turn the machine on. Set it and forget it. The machine will turn off when it is done.
Find someone who loves you the way Daboki loves his lunchbox
The Llama was the next best thing to the dumplings
You should be sponsored by them. What Wonderful gift idea. Now you can make your girlfriend the best food. You know the way to a women's heart is through her tummy. LOL😂😂

Slavic pelmeni are available in savory AND sweet. One of my favorite dessert pelmeni is sour cherry with a sweetened sour cream sauce. SO good.
