This song holds a special place in my heart, bc i was there probably the first time Matt performed it. I was in a Bible Study with him, and he said the study imspired him to write it. He played it alone with his guitar for us. It gave me chills, then and now. Matt is such an amazing talent. Thank you for sharing it with us!
One of my favorite songs, ever. I'm a music director out in Portland, OR, and I've used this song. NOT easy. One of those songs where you need to either do it well (and have good instrumentalists) or just leave it alone. But dang I agree.......I could listen to this ALL day.
Here's our choral rendition of Matt Maher's classic 'Love Has Come': th-cam.com/video/1tciJftxk78/w-d-xo.html. The lush harmonies bring a new prayerful and reverent interpretation to Maher's beautiful lyrics. Thanks and God bless!
Greetings from just a little further up the Columbia (Richland, WA) where my wife and I are also music directors! I definitely agree you need to go big or go home on this one-seem to have special trouble with percussionists who can't quite get the Celtic feel right. BTW, any idea exactly what the chord is at 2:21-it's certainly not the E7 as in the printed music (maybe add °4?)… Best wishes, mgh
Bad versuion...stretches out the natural flow of the song and also should have a full choir singing it - this is NOT a song for a solist - it is a beautiful song but this version weighs down the natural flow of the song with too much 'time' and too few voices....
Personally, not a big fan of choirs for most music. Prefer simpler renditions of most songs ... and this one is no exception, for me. But to each their own.
