I heard this at Adoration at Stuebenville Mid-America. I can say it changed my life and made me a greater Catholic. A lot of people don't understand why i am so strong in my faith. God is an awesome God. I was amazed during adoration, absolutely astonished and struck with wonder and awe. It was an amazing expierence. I can't wait to go back to that conference (:
We had adoration at a retreat i was at,....and near the end....they started playing this song....i burst into tears and felt Gods love wash over me, its an amazing feeling just being in the presence of Jesus.
Thank God for the Eucharist, for St Thomas Aquinas who wrote this (Tantum Ergo), for Matt Maher and for all christian musicians and worship leaders! Thank God particularly for Catholic artists who help us celebrate the great gifts given through the apostolic succession!
@zephyrkimi I went to Steubenville of the Rockies 2010!!!! Those retreats are so awesome. I had the absolute time of my life there. Adoration was the best part of the entire retreat.
@zephyrkimi I would agree. This song is AWESOME. It is unreal how Matt Maher is able to use the words of St. Thomas Acquanis from the 1500's and show it's relvance this day and all days to come. Check out Fr. Jim's talk, in which he incorporates the poem, and we tie in the music at the end.

@zephyrkimi you went to Steubenville 2010 too??? Which one?? I've been going now since 2006 - unfortunately I won't be going this year because of World Youth Day. Which one did you go to??
@Jpvblaze You went to the Rockies?? You might have seen me then - I was part of the LEAD team!! Maybe this will help - I was the shortest one on the stage that final Sunday ^^
@TheNewlife93 Yeah that's true, but it's also the individual-ity of the three persons that make the Trinity what it is. An example of them being separate is when Jesus was on the cross: "Father, Father, why have you forsaken me?" Obviously He knew why, but Jesus was literally SEPARATED completely from the Father at that moment and felt forsaken so that we would NOT be forsaken. It's the awesome mystery of the Trinity :)
this song is beautiful .. but I think the picture 1:35 is fault because they pictured the Father and the Son divided into two different persons and that's not true .. we believe in ONE God : the Father, the Son and The Holy spirit are ONE .. we divide them because of the different jobs they do .. the Father is the Source , The Son is the Creator (the LOGOS ) , and the Holy Spirit is the source of life .. and they are one God .. and Christ himself said in John 10 : 30 " I and my Father are one "
I am so pround and thankful to be a Catholic Christian.
