- We are back with a new vegan taste test!!! This time we are testing vegan mayo brands. And the winner was $3.

Disclaimer: We picked up the non-vegan version of Chosen. The only thing we can think of is that they were side by side and we just grabbed the wrong with without double checking. We didn't realize this until after the video was shot and uploaded and we were writing the post. We've implemented a new procedure so this doesn't happen again. We appreciate your understanding in the fact that we are simply humans and mistakes happen.

Everyone was saying use veganaise. So Walmart only had vegan salad dressing. husband non vegan likes it. Number five sounds like miracle whip to me which I hate.
We just Just! (and my husband/kids aren’t fully vegan) I’m always afraid to try others because I don’t want to waste money! I just started the video. Can’t wait to see your thoughts!

I love Soy free Follow Your heart. I don't find it artifical tasting at all. I love most Follow Your Heart products. Oh well to each their own. Everyone's tastes are different. I like Just too but its hard to find in my area.
I love this vid! Your descriptions are so on point and helpful, I can really grasp which one I might enjoy the most! If I had one critique, it's to please put the brand in the corner on the vid somewhere and not just at the beginning. I found myself having to rewind back to the brand and fast forward to where I left off, bc I wouldn't remember which was which. Other than that, great vid!!
When you mentioned the Follow Your Heart tasted like it had too much mustard, I was like...no wonder I like that one. I love mustard.

I think you should have a new vegan or a non vegan do these taste tests with you.
We've discussed it but we aren't comfortable with Covid doing that right now, maybe in the future

I always really liked JUST mayo. I would never ever get Hellman's because I've been allergic to eggs since childhood and my heart always broke when my mom brought out the Hellman's. Plus they never made the choice to make a vegan version until now. Not about to start having Hellman's after all of those years of being ignored by them. I am petty 😶

I've only had the Hellman's and a few FYH types (The regular, avocado oil, and grapeseed oil ones). So far, I really like the blue label regular Follow Your Heart Veganaise. My coworkers use it too, and they say it tastes like regular mayo (which I never ate before becoming vegan, was a Miracle Whip girl).

Mayo is such an interesting topic. The preferences are so so personal in terms of texture, taste and acidity...and there are always camps of people liking one mainstream brand over another :D Having said that, I love the fact at this point there are SO MANY vegan options you can really test out what suits you best! Unfortunately, I have not found "the" one - all I have available have some disadvantages - be it the ingredients, texture or taste. But they are fine for from-time-to-time applications XD

marg, its been over 2 years later now , sooo have you found "The One" lol your go to vegan mayonaise if so which brand and ya know some brands switch up their formula every few years so i gues you could have retried a few of them

Random: I don’t like Mayo either but recently started eating the Follow Your Heart original veganaise on sandwiches and to make grilled cheese in place of ranch or butter and it’s not so bad.

Wow! I have tried 80% of the brands and before I started to use Hellman's "exclusively" it was Earth Balance's Mindful Mayo and to the point I got non-vegans using it! But then? Hellman's got us ALL hooked🤣😂 I will say you've intrigued me with the Target option and I will be checking it out. I had no idea it existed. Thanks again for another great vid!

This is SO confusing to me because I can eat regular Hellman's straight out of the jar and I found the vegan completely inedible. I know taste is subjective but I had to throw it out it was so bad. Back to the drawing board for me😃
@@Glim246 I haven’t had “to my knowledge” actual Hellman’s in years but the moment I tasted the vegan version I liked it very much. Seriously, I felt the same as you did when I had FYH’s Vegenaise and thought both Sir Kensington and JUST were horrid but, really liked Earth Balance - until Hellman’s came along. I grew up in a home where HAIN Mayo was a mainstay and so maybe my “buds” are outa whack. 😁
@@mija288 I think one of the things that really makes the difference is whether you are used to mayo or "dressing" like Miracle whip. The vegan mayos I've tried mostly taste like the dressings to me which I don't like. I'll have to pick up the Earth Balance. It's too bad they are so expensive so it's hard to try them all but I'm going to keep trying😃
Thank you so much for doing this video. I was having a serious debate about cheating occasionally because I cannot live without my Hellmann's. They had a vegan mayo that tasted just like their regular one but for some reason they changed it and now it taste more like miracle whip which I don't like at all. After watching this video I ran to Target and got my mayo. I'm soooo happy. I'm relieved I don't have to cheat. :)
All I wanna say is, Where are you guys still finding Just? I thought they quit making it. Enjoyed this, because potato salad season is almost upon us, and I usually make my own mayo, but it's good to know what commercial ones are good enough to compete with Just. Also, I snickered at the Sir Kensington's results. It's such a pretentious brand! TFP : )

I really don't like the Sir Kinsingtons brand. Everything I've tried has been a thumbs down. Great test ! I will pick up some to try for sure.

hellman’s is the best & i’ve only tried one other. but hellman’s is ALWAYS my go to anyway, vegan or nonvegan.

I’ve only tried one Egan Mayo so far and it’s the Celebrate Health. I bought it one day when I was at Home Goods, figured I’d give it a try. I was surprised at how close it tasted to real Mayo just a little thinner consistency. I’d buy it again.
It's the weirdest place to find it but it works LOL
The best vegan mayo is the Fresh Thyme vegan mayo if you can find it! I like it much more than Just (which used to be my favorite!)

It’s crazy how much I hated mayo before being vegan. Now I’m obsessed!!! Crazy hack you can mix mayo and mustard to make a creamy tartar sauce or even faux honey mustard

I didn't realize there were that many vegan mayo. I do not like Hellmann's vegan mayo, but prefer their regular one. I don't like their olive oil mayo or light either. I've tried Veganaise and liked it at the time. My son refuses to eat mayo or sour cream, but he has had both in dishes and enjoyed the food 😉

I like the Simple Truth by Kroger. Even my non vegan husband likes it!!! I was surprised you didn't have it in the video.
Sidenote: the plant based chocolate chip cookie dough(break & place) by Simple Truth are delicious, again approved by my husband & kids.

We can't get Just in my area anymore. Vegenaise is my top because I can't get Just. Best Foods (Hellman's) is too much like real mayo and I never liked mayo before switching.

I found that you can use any vegan Sour cream or yogurt to make cheesecake or ermine frosting. I made a bomb cream cheese ermine frosting using that nasty Forager sour cream as some of the milk called for in the recipe. The more tangy/Sour, the better. Or it makes great ranch dressing or dips.

i mean probably, but spooning mayo didn't seem ideal LOL
i think some blind taste tests are actually blindfolded because the person can only judge it based on taste and not the color of the product or the texture of it..but in the case that this is literally mayo and they'll all pretty much look identical it would be too hard to tell the difference in brands just by looking at them! HOWEVER if you were doing more blind taste tests like different vegan meats/cheese etc that would need a blindfold since they all look so different.

Late to the party but yesss my favorite topic. Beyonce has hot sauce in her bag, I have vegan mayo 😂 No literally, I used to carry it to restaurants to dip fries. RIP JUST! It definitely was my favorite, especially the garlic mayo. I like the eggs but I don't know why they couldn't keep carrying the mayos as well, sigh. Felt very vindicated by your reaction to Sir Kensington-that's often the only option I have, and ugh, it's so foul on its own, though I'll cook with it. Yuck yuck yuck. WHY does this have to be the default? I was pretty happy with Hellman's staying away from home the last few months, and also liked the Wegman's brand vegan mayo, but my current fave is a Fred Myer (WA grocery store chain, owned by Kroger) vegan garlic aioli. Also like the TJ's truffle aioli taste wise but the texture is SOO gloopy, ugh.
My favorite is Kroger Simple Truth plant based mayo. It's the only one I'll eat. Lol

A tasty HEALTHY vegan mayo, under $3, doesn't exist. Soy (unfermented), canola oil are toxic, and xanthum gum questionable as it is artificially derived bacteria waste. Calcium disodium (E385) doesn't seem to present side effects when consumed in low doses, while high intakes affect the absorption of zinc, copper and iron, leading to mineral deficiencies. You get what you pay for and your well-being is a reflection of what you eat. Make your own vegan mayo using organic, non-toxic ingredients or, at least, a brand that offers soy-free/canola-free and gum-free.
I hate the earth balance one too but I spent money on it so I’m gonna force myself to use it 😭

Thanks for making a video about vegan Mayo. I like just and follow your heart is okay, but they changed their recipe and it’s not as good. I used to like Sir Kensington’s. It once tasted great, but I think they changed their recipe and now it’s nasty.

I would never be able to do this. Things like coleslaw, mac salad, potato salads, aioli, tartar sauce and stuff like that are delicious, don't get me wrong. But plain mayo by itself? Ummm... no thank you! Hard pass
So, Hellmann's had made this amazing vegan mayo (brown and blue label) that was almost indistinguishable from the original, and then they changed it (green and blue label), and it was horrible. I hope they change it back, but for now my favorite is Wildwood garlic aoli.
So I must have missed the original one because I thought Hellmans was inedible. I thought at first it was rancid it was so bad. I hate food waste but it went straight in to the garbage. Back to the search for me😐
